The Photos by Mike IMCA Modifieds returned to  Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. A good field of 22 IMCA Modifieds were in the pits. Along with the Modifieds, Saturday’s Showcard included the IMCA Sportmods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, Eco Mods and the Jr. Limiteds. Rounding out Saturday’s Show, was a Ladies Powder Puff race and a Eco Mods makeup rain out feature. Check out all the exciting racing action from Saturday night.

George White was the Modified feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night

George White was the Modified feature winner.

George White, No. 10, came close to winning the Sprint feature Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. He came up a little short and settled for second place. In the IMCA Modified feature, it was a different story. George raced to the front and took the checkered flag for the feature win. Having a good run was Jeff Emerson, No. 35, for second, Chad Melton, No. 71, was third, Matt Martin, No. 11, last weeks feature winner, was fourth, and Dean Abbey, No. 91, was fifth. Gober, Bransom, McKinney, McMillin, and Campbell, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Picking up his second Sprint feature win in-a-row, was Weston Gorham, No. 71w. Settling for second was George White, No. 10. Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 21x, had a good run for third, Jeff Emerson, No. 35, was fourth and Colby Estes, No. 71, was fifth. Lawrence, Hall, Wood, Williams, and C. Estes, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: It wasn't easy, but with less than five laps to go, Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, worked his way around the high side to take the feature win. Michael Newhard, No. 14n, had a soild run for a very close second, Will Fritchen, No. 97f, lead several laps of the race, but ended up third. Last weeks feature winner, Kamera McDonald, No. 62k, was fourth and John Freeman, No. 21f, had a good run to finish in the top five. Long, Hammond, Cavanagh, McCreery, and Montgomery, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-six cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Westin Abbey, No. 12, was the feature winner. Justin Fowler, No. 148, was second, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Steven Orebaugh, No. 99xxx, was fourth and Kirk Martin, No. 69, was fifth. Hammond, Crenshaw, Nabors, Obregon, and Goldstein, rounded  out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Catch me if you can. Chase Neill, No. 416, picked up another win. Trey Smitherman, No. 96, was second, Ricky Sessions, No. 7, was third, Justin McNeil, No. 189, was fourth and Jeff Kinnaird, No. 07, was fifth. Van Matre, Earl III, Lough, Cook, and Murray, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Justin Fifield flies past Chipper Wood to take Sprint feature at Mountain Creek Speedway

Justin Fifield was the RaceSaver Sprint feature winner.

Chipper Wood, No. 47, looked like he was going to get his first IMCA Sprint feature win at Mountain Creek Friday night. But a hard charging Justin Fifield, No. 49, passed Chipper Wood and John Ricketts, No. 5r, to take the feature win. Shane Gloeckler, No. 30, was fourth and Dustin Woods, No. 00, was fifth. Seventeen IMCA Sprints started the feature.

IMCA Modified Winner: Jack Sartain, No. 47, started on the pole and lead every lap in the IMCA Modified feature. Glen Hibbard, No. 127, was second, Dillon Pike, No. 6, was third, Sam Cox, No. 3, was fourth and Matt Winnett, No. 999, was fifth. William Gould, No. 60, did not finish.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, ran away with the IMCA SportMod feature. Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was second, Billy Gould Jr., No. 60, was third, Jon White Jr., No. 8j, was fourth and Luke Fritchen, No. 99, was fifth.

Street Stock Winner: It looked like Calton Pritchett, No. 12c, picked up his first feature win in the Street Stocks, but he was later DQ, giving the win to Archie Whitt Jr., No. 46. Lance Hansen Jr., No. 5h, was second, Ricky Braddock, No. 38, was third, Bill McGee, No. 6, was fourth.

Bomber Winner: David Woodcock, No. 77w, was the feature winner. Bobby Morphis, No. 7b, was second, Billy Burt II, No. 118, was third, Jason Cook, No. 04, was fourth and Scott Baird, No. 52, was fifth.

Budweiser to sponsor Kevin Harvick in 2011

The beer maker is shifting its sponsorship from Kasey Kahne to the No. 29 Chevrolet next season. Harvick is currently the points leader, and the only Sprint Cup driver to have clinched a Chase spot.

Texan Chris Buescher signs with Roush Fenway Racing

Roush Fenway Racing has welcomed another Texas native into its racing family. Teenager Chris Buescher of Prosper has signed a driver development contract with the NASCAR team. Colin Braun, 21, of Ovalo also races for Roush in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he is seventh in the points in his sophomore season piloting the No. 6 Ford.
 
The 16-year-old Buescher has spent the 2009 season competing part-time in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, where he has three top-five and four top-10 finishes in six starts for Roulo Brothers Racing. When he won the pole at Salem Speedway earlier this year, he set an ARCA record for the youngest pole winner in the series' 57-year history. Buescher is the younger cousin of James Buescher of Plano, who is a rookie in the Camping World Truck Series and drives the No. 10 Ford for Texas-based Circle Bar Racing. 

“I’ve worked really hard and it’s taken a long time, but I’m very glad to be where I am,” Chris Buescher said in a release. “Roush is one of the top teams out there and to be associated with them is an honor. This year was a big step. I’ve learned a lot this year and am really looking forward to next year."

It should come as no surprise that Buescher has landed with RFR. Roush Sprint Cup driver David Ragan has been mentoring Buescher in Legends Cars at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., since 2008. Buescher's No. 17 Ford in the ARCA RE/MAX Series is sponsored by the David Ragan Fan Club. Local racing fans may remember Buescher from when he won the 2007 Legends Car Pro division championship at Texas Motor Speedway.
 
Buescher will continue to run a part-time ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule in 2010 with Roulo Brothers in association with Roush Fenway Racing.

Plano teen James Buescher wins ARCA race at Daytona

Plano native James Buescher held off fellow teenager and Sprint Cup rookie Joey Logano to win the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA/RE MAX race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday.

Logano, 18, was attempting to pass Buescher, 18, for the lead with six laps remaining when a multi-car accident behind them brought out a red flag. After the stoppage, the field came to the green with only two laps remaining and Logano never mounted enough of a threat to get past Buescher, who will now shift his focus to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he'll pilot the No. 10 Ford for Circle Bar Racing.

Pole-sitter Justin Lofton finished third followed by John Wes Townley and Ken Weaver. Fort Worth resident Nur Ali finished 38th after he was involved in an accident on lap 30 of the 80-lap event. Only 11 cars finished on the lead lap. Go here for more info and complete results.

Buescher qualifies 7th, Ali 35th for Daytona ARCA race

Plano native James Buescher, who is scheduled to run a full NASCAR Trucks series schedule this season for Circle Bar Racing, qualified seventh in his No. 32 Toyota for Saturday's season-opening ARCA RE/MAX race at Daytona International Speedway. Justin Lofton posted a lap of 182.120 mph to edge Alli Owens (181.510 mph) for the pole on the 2.5-mile Daytona oval. Owens, a second-year ARCA driver from Daytona Beach, Fla., is one of two women in the field.
NASCAR phenom Joey Logano, 18, will start third in the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 after running 181.324. Fort Worth resident Nur Ali qualified 35th in his No. 45 Dodge. Read more about Ali here. A full ARCA lineup can be found here. The race will be shown live on Speed, starting at 3 p.m. (Central) on Saturday.

Harvick inks Carmichael for 'Dega ARCA race

Former motorcross champion Ricky Carmichael is scheduled to make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut on Oct. 3 at Talladega Superspeedway. Kevin Harvick Inc. will provide Carmichael's ride at the 2.66-mile high-banked track. Carmichael, who is a 15-time AMA motorcross champion, is eighth in NASCAR's Camping World East Series standings. The rookie has three top-five and six top-10 finishes driving for Ken Schrader Racing. Carmichael is participating in an ARCA open test at Talladega this week.
