Tour officials are pleased to announce upcoming dates for the 2023 Sniper Speed Lone Star Stock Car tour, which include a new payout, new format, new month, and the return of IMCA.tv to broadcast all 6 events.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will compete for the $1,000.00 top prize money and $100.00 to start during the first two nights at Kennedale Speedway Park. The tour then moves for two nights to Devils Bowl Speedway for a possible $2,000.00 to win and $200.00 to start. The final two nights of the tour head to Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway for possible $3,000.00 to win $300.00 to start. Each night is minimum $1,000.00 to win $100.00 to start before the Double and Triple bonus money.
To be eligible for the Double and Triple pay in positions 1-24, drivers must be pre-registered before the tour starts at Kennedale. Also, to earn the progressive payout, you must have attended the first two events along with the Devils Bowl and Heart O’ Texas events. Nightly entries are not eligible for these bonuses.
A new format is in store for 2023. The tour will compete at 3 tracks in 6 days, with each track hosting two nights. "We have partnered up with many of the same great tracks again this year, less travel and less tracks will make the travel between races better on the teams.” stated Tour Director Jon Courchaine. There will be an open practice Thursday March 2nd at Kennedale and another along with the driver appreciation party March 5th at Devils Bowl.
The tour has always been held in mid to late February in the past, but this year it will be held March 2nd-8th, 2023.
“Weather that time of year in Texas has not been good for us, heck, last year most teams and drivers became stranded in Dallas because of an ice storm that moved in overnight.” Stated Courchaine. The move to March will see better weather suited to racing.
IMCA.tv will return for all 6 nights of the tour. The tour will be available per night. Price to be announced in further news.
Registration opens December 1st, 2022, for IMCA Stock Cars by visiting www.sniperspeedtour.com/ and clicking the Driver Registration tab using My Race Pass. Pre Registration is $380.00 for the tour. Any drivers that enter for the 6 races on the first night or online after 2/28/23 will have a $100.00 late entry fee. Nightly entry fee is $75.00.
By completing the online registration, it ensures you are eligible for all the tour prizes and contingencies. This also includes eligibility for the Kirk Martin Sportsmanship awards. It will also save you in the pocketbook, as if drivers are not pre-registered by February 28, 2023, will have an entry fee of $75.00 each night.
In addition, every IMCA Stock Car racer will have a chance to receive their registration refunded and you will be “On Tour” with no entry fees. This is as simple as selling minimum 125 raffle tickets for a new Midstate’s Machine engine. Every driver that sells 125 plus tickets will be refunded their prepaid entry fee.
