Southern Oklahoma Speedway got the 2020 racing season back up and running in a big way Saturday night! SOS hosted the 2020 Corona Kicker that featured the Touring Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS), plus the IMCA Southern SportMods, and the IMCA Stock Cars. There were 80 TOMS Modifieds in attendance! Making this the largest car count in their history! The other classes were well represented also with 59 Sportmods and 34 Stock Cars for a total of 173 race cars! Thanks to all the racers and fans that came out and made this a special night. It was great to have dirt track racing back up and running. Congratulations to all the winners!
TOMS Modified $2,300 Feature Winner: Searcy, AR, Tyler Stevens, No. 2s, started from the eleventh spot and managed to pass Triston Dycus, No. 14t, with two laps to go, in the 30-lap feature, to take the exciting win! Tanner Mullens, R.C. Whitwell, Jeff Taylor, Tanner Black, Chris Henigan, Bobby Malchus, Danny Caldwell, and Cole Traugott, rounded out the top ten. Mike Hansen, Kevin Rutherford, William Gould, Justin McCoy, Kale Westover, Travis Mosley, Christopher Luttmer, Austin Bonner, Jason Webb, Danny Florence, Rodney Sanders, Brint Hartwick, Chris Dawson, and Josh Cain, rounded out the field. Twenty-four cars started the feature.
IMCA Southern Sport Mod Feature Winner: Dean Abbey, No. 26, was your feature winner! Kyle Robinson, Tate Butler, Chase Vineyard, Tyler Bragg, Matthew Day, Kaden Honeycutt, Blaaine Shives, Tommy Dove, and Trevor Foley, rounded out the top ten. Casey Brunson, Ryan Thomas, Matt Beasley, Cullen Hill, Shawn Graham, Zack Oliva, Trey Willoughby, Austin Bonner, Justin Cox, Brandon Watson, Jared Baird, Shelby Williams, Tyler Honeycutt, and Chase Raymond, rounded out the field. Twenty-four cars started the feature.
IMCA Stock Car Feature Winner: The Abbey family picked up another feature win! Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, held off Dean Abbey, to get the exciting feature win! William Gould, Matt Guillaume, Ryan Powers, Tommy Fain, Dennis Bissonnette, Cary White, A.J. Dancer, and Aaron Benedict, rounded out the top ten. Dustin White, Todd Decker, Rob Moseley, Jeramey Bradley, Kenny Merritt, Samuel Spadaro Jr., John Hobbs, Troy Burkhart, Marcus Hahn, Shelby Williams, Erik Miles, Bobby Miller, Jason Batt, and Landon Maddox, rounded out the field. Twenty-four cars started the feature.
Southern Oklahoma Speedway's next race is Saturday, May 9, and will feature a regular show including the Hobby, Stock, Eco Mod, Sport Mod, IMCA Mod, and the Topless Mods.
