John Gober gets gold with $1,000 win at Kennedale Speedway Parks 4th Annual Bryan Mize Memorial

Richard Snider received a special award for all his hard work at the track.

Kennedale Speedway Park hosted the final race of the 2018 racing season with the 4th Annual Bryan Mize Memorial! Bryan Mize was a friend and crew member of Kevin Sustaire Motorsport, who passed away on August 20, 2015. Bryan would have been pleased, because Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day for racing. A good crowd was on hand and there were over 140 race teams in the pits. The featured class was the $1,000-to-win IMCA Modifieds, plus the IMCA SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars and the exciting Factory Stocks. Check out all the racing action from Saturday night below!

Modified feature winner: John Gober, No. 52, got past William Gould, No. 60, on the last lap, of the 20-lap feature, to take the exciting $1,000-to-win Modified feature. Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was third, Matt Martin, No. 11, was fourth and Cody Leonard, No. 12, was fifth. Michael Ables, J.P. Dowell, Ronnie Bell, Chris Bragg, Cody Shoemaker, Richard Brown, Mike Hathcock, Larry Adams, Archie Whitt, David Goode Sr., Ryan Williams, Raymond McSpadden, Darrell Campbell, Garrett Higgins, and Charlie Theme rounded out the field. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Matt Guillaume had a top three finish.

SportMod feature winner: Dean Abbey, No. 26, was your run-a-way feature winner! Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was second, Jon White Jr., No. 8j, was third, Brandon Watson, No. 68, was fourth and Kevin Manning, No. 81, was fifth. David Bolt, Jeff Shepperd, Blaine Shives, James Hanusch, Billy Brierton, G.W. Egbert, Tyler Bragg, Brandon White, Stephen Torrez, Ryan Powers, Michael Dabney, Kirk Williams, Tommy Grimes, Jack Franklin, and Robert Scriven rounded out the field. Twenty-cars started the feature. 

Sid Kiphen had a solid second place finish.

Stock Car feature winner: Good race between Austin Smith, No. 313, and Damon Hammond, No. 116. Austin appeared to get the win, but was later DQ'd! Hammond was declared the feature winner, George Egbert, No. 70, was second, Andy Roller, No. 63, was third, Tyler Muirhead, No. 22t, had a good run for fourth and Bryan Schutte, No. 7x, was fifth. Dennis Bissonnette, Cary White, Levi Hodges, Steven Orebaugh, J.D. Davis, Dean Abby, Brad Engstrom, Ronnie Christopher, Bryce Pritchett, Brent Cargal, Richard Brownlee, G.W. Egbert, Brandon Taylor, Kirk Martin, and Adam Smith, rounded out the field. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Adam Smith had a fast car but didn't pass tech.

Factory Stock feature winner: "Flyin" Ryan Powers, No. r12, held off Cameron Cook, No. 04, for the feature win. Calvin Williams, No. 11w, was third, Walter Hamilton, No. 14, was fourth and Blake Clark, No. 27, was fifth. Jason Cook, Jason Hauser, Bryce Pritchett, Dustin Sprouse,  Michael Martin, Lance Hanson Jr., Tommy Williams Jr., Dustin Choate, Kenny Magar, Devin Manning, Jamie Herring, Timothy Holder, Matt Rust, Leroy Bernard, and Dean Abbey, rounded out the field. Twenty-cars started the feature. 

Cameron Cook was a close second in the feature.

Terry Phillips was the $10,000 Summit USMTS Southern Nationals feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park

 A great crowd was on hand to watch some racing on a beautiful evening until the rains came.

It was shaping up to be a November to Remember at Kennedale Speedway Park. The Summit Racing Equipment USMTS Southern Nationals was host to over two hundred race cars, including the Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, and Factory Stocks. Sadly seventeen laps into the 60-lap, $10,000-to-win Modified finale feature, the rains came. Terry Phillips, No. 75, was declared the Southern Nationals Modified feature winner! Adam Willis, No. 10m, took home the $5,000 prize in the Limited Modified feature and Justin Whitehead, No. 36, took home the $5,000 prize in the Factory Stock finale. Modified feature winner: Terry Phillips, No. 75, was the $10,000-to-win feature winner. Johnny Scott, No. 1st, was second, Dereck Ramirez, No. 4r, was third, Clyde Dunn Jr., No. 88xxx, was fourth and Bo Day, No. 4d, was fifth. Kale Westover, Jack Sartain, Tyler Townsend, Jake Gallardo, and Troy Taylor, rounded out the top ten. William Gould, Rodney Sanders, Joe Duvall, Kyle Brown, Logan Robertson, A.J. Vasquez, Marvin Skinner, Josh McGaha, Kevin Rutherford, George White, David Winslett, Chris Henigan, Ryan Gustin, Stormy Stott, Matt Guillaume, and Carlos Ahumada, rounded out the field. Twenty-six cars started the feature.

Veteran Terry Phillips, from Springfield, MO, took home the top prize this weekend.

The USMTS 2018 Southern Series Champion Johnny Scott got $5,200 for second place.

Dereck Ramirez, No. 4r, had a solid third place finish for $3,300.

Limited Modified feature winner: Adam "White Lightening" Willis, No. 10m, was the $5,000-to-win feature winner! Rodney Sanders, No. 25d, was second, Dustin Robinson, No. 10, was third, Rowdy Day, No. 20d, was fourth and Shane Hebert, No. 9, was fifth. Bobby Ruffin, Kevin Manning, Kevin Sustaire, Dean Abbey, and Tommy Davis Jr., rounded out the top ten. Tanner Houston, James McCreery, David Bolf, Kevin Rowland, Jacob Pirkle, Dan Day, Jimmy Day, Brandon Watson, James Skinner, Jon White Jr., Thomas Blackwell, Rodney White, Kale Westover, and Adam Roy, rounded out the field. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Chris Henigan, No. L100, was second, Rodney White, No. 38dd, was third, Brett McMillin, No. 61, was fourth and Ralo Pilkington, No. 22, was fifth. Jeffrey Abbey, Lee McCollough, Tommy Williams Jr., "Flyin" Ryan Powers, and Lance Hansen Jr., rounded out the top ten. It was qualifying night at Kennedale Speedway Park for the Summit Racing USMTS Southern Nationals

Current USMTS points leader Johnny Scott is locked into Saturdays $10,000 to win Modified feature.

Kennedale Speedway Park hosted night one of the inaugural Summit Racing Equipment USMTS Southern Nationals. The racing event was shortened because of the heavy rains that the track received earlier in the week. A special thanks to Bo Rawdon, Tony Dycus and crew for all their hard work to get the track ready to race. Current Summit USMTS Southern Series, presented by Production Jars, points leader Johnny Scott, No. 1st, from Las Cruces, N.M., headed a star studded field of Modifieds. Along with the Modifieds, there were the Limited Modifieds, and Factory Stocks. Friday night all three classes ran dual qualifying heats. Over TWO HUNDRED race teams were in the pits. This is shaping up to be a November to Remember! Racing continues Saturday evening with racing action starting at 5 p.m.! Check out all the exciting heat racing action from Friday night below!
