Robert McKinney gets his first ever IMCA Modified feature win at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night

There was a full moon over Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night! That made for some wild and crazy races. A full racing program consisting of seven classes of cars, including the Modifieds, Sprints, SportMods, Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, Jr. Mini Stocks, and the 600 A-class, put on an exciting show for the fans. Check out the racing coverage below.

Next Saturday, April 7, the LoneStar Dwarf Car Club returns along with a full race program!

Modified Feature Winner: Good race between Robert McKinney, No. 19, and Charlie Thieme, No. t9. Robert managed to get around Charlie in lap traffic and get his first KSP Modified feature win. Last weeks feature winner Justin McCoy, No. 87, was third, Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fourth and Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was fifth. Marvin Skinner, Cody Shoemaker, Austin Gooding, Casey Lyles, and Erik Miles rounded out the top ten. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, is on a roll. Jeb was the Sprint feature winner last week. Saturday night it took Jeb a few laps to take over the lead, in the 20-lap feature, but once he did there was no catching him! Veteran George White, No. 10, was second, Colby Estes, No. 71, had a strong run, but ended up third, Lucas Scherb, No. 22, was fourth and Christian Kinnison, No. 82c, was fifth. Logan Scherb, Mark Klis Jr., Logan Payne, Shane Gloeckler, and Bob Odom rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jake Upchurch, No. 24, had not gotten off to a good start this season. But his luck changed Saturday night, because he managed to miss all the mayhem that went on behind him! Jake worked his way to the front and ran off with the SportMod feature win. Kamera McDonald, No. 62k, had a good run for second. Scottie Kelton, No. 49k, was third, Kevin Crawford, No. 7c, was fourth and Kevin Crawford Jr., No. 06, was fifth. Ryan Eyer, Joseph Doremus, Damon Hammond, Gary Fox, and Don Owens, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Glen Hibbard and James Willis were involved in a bad wreck during the SportMod feature.

Rickey Haney No. 99h and John Rabozzi No. 90 were also involved in the SportMod wreck.

Glen Hibbard No. 127 beautiful IMCA SportMod received heavy damage.

James Willis No. 2w IMCA SportMod also received heavy damage.

Stock Car Feature Winner: "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, picked up another Stock Car feature win! Jay Bransom, No. 29, was hot on his tail, but settled for second, Jarrett Bransom, No. 28, was third, Brandon Taylor, No. 5*, was fourth, and Duain Pritchett, No. 21, was fifth. Todd Ludwick, Gary Nabors, Brad Eckstrom, Blake Clark, and Michael Wofford, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: A close race between Trey Smitherman, No. 96, and Lance Hanson Jr., No. 5h, Trey held off last weeks feature winner for the exciting win. Danny Merrell, No. 41m, was third, Frank Lackey, No. 41, was fourth and Justin Grogg, No. 25, was fifth. Kyle Robillard, Royce Barber, Dustin Choate, Jordan Hefler, and John Barton, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

Christopher Larson No. 2l was declared the feature winner after tech.

600 A-class Feature Winner: After tech, Christopher Larson, 2l, was declared the winner. Johnny Boland, No. 1b, had a solid run for second, Morgan Roan, No. 15, was third, Stephan Smith, No. 3s, was fourth and Devon Debrick, No. 10d, was fifth. Cody Price, Trevor Goad, Chance Hull, Brady Ross, and Jacob Barton, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: When the final results were in, Brody Tarrant, No. 74, had picked up his first feature win of his young racing career! Justin Anderson, No. 14, was second, Eric Nieto, No. 53, Jimmy Rawlins, No. 8, William Holland, No. 9, Devin Manning, No. 96m, Mason Martin, No. 31, and Hailee Nieto, No. 07, rounded out the field. 

It was cool and windy Saturday but a nice crowd was on hand to watch the races.

It was a good Friday for racing at Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX. Along with some exciting races, over 100 kids received an Easter Basket! The Easter Basket giveaway is an annual event and Heart O Texas Speedway would like to thank everyone that donated an Easter Basket! Friday nights racing program consisted of six classes of cars that included the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Southern SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, Outlaw Street Stocks, and the Jr. Mini Stocks. 

Next Friday, April 6, will be Autism Awareness Night with all the proceeds from donations and 50/50 drawings going to the Heart of Texas Autism Network. The Texas Wing Modifieds will make their first appearance of the season along with five other classes!

Modified Feature Winner: Due to the rain earlier in the week, the track was a little rough. It was just a bump in the road for last years Heart O Texas Speedways IMCA Modified Champion Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t. Eric powered his way past the competition for the Modified feature win! William McGuire, No. 9, was second, J.P. Dowell, No. 91, was third, Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was fourth and David Goode, No. 7g, was fifth. Raymond McSpadden, Tom Earl III, Ryan Williams, Cody Daniel, and Rodney Twardeski, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: T.J. Green, No. 5, saw the green flag and he was off to the races! Gabe Tucker, No. 95, was closing in, but settled for second, Chris Cogburn, No. 601, was third, James Hanusch, No. 777, was fourth and Jeff Shepperd, No. 17, was fifth. Sid Kiphen, Trevor Ramey, Kyle Wilkins, Taylor Florio, and Brandon Geurin, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

The Sprints returned to Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Making their first appearance of the season, were the Texas Sprint Series (TSS). The Texas Sprint Series feature the Winged 305 IMCA RaceSaver Sprints! Along with the Sprints were the IMCA  Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks and the Jr. Mini Stocks! Next Saturday, March 31, there will be a FREE Easter baskets give-a-way for the kids along with a full race program that includes the RaceSaver Sprints and the 600 A-class Mini Sprints!

Jeff Emerson had a solid second place finish.

Texas Sprint Series Feature Winner:  A good field of twenty-eight TSS Sprints competed for the 20-spots in the 20-lap feature Saturday night. Local Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, ran-away with this one! Jeff Emerson, No. 35, settled for second, Jerry Hammock, No. 4, was third, veteran George White, No. 10x, was fourth and Dustin Woods, No. 00, was fifth. Chase Parson, Christian Kinnison, Bud Hanna, Bryan Debrick, and J.D. Fry, rounded out the top ten. Twenty cars started the feature.

Mitch McMillin, Marvin Skinner, Demetrius Carter, Mark Shipman, and Austin Gooding, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Jay held on to get his first feature win of the season. Gary Nabors, No. 59, was second, Craig Moss, No. 25, was third, "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and Aaron Benedict, No. 77a, was fifth. Gene Adamcik was the long time owner/promoter of Heart O Texas Speedway and a good friend to many in the racing community. Along with the Sprint Car Bandits, were the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Southern SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, and the Outlaw Street Stocks. Next Friday, March 30, Heart O Texas Speedway will be giving away FREE Easter baskets to the kids plus a regular racing program that features six classes of cars.

Sprint Car Bandits Feature Winner: Michael Day, No. 2, held off "Big Red Racing" Kyle Jones, No. 04, for the exciting 25-lap, $2,000-to-win NCRA Sprint Car Bandits feature! Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, held their Annual Jack Bagby Memorial that featured the IMCA Modifieds who were racing for $1,000 to win! Along with the IMCA Modifieds, the race program included the IMCA Southern SportMods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, and the Jr. Mini Stocks. Also, making their first appearance of the 2018 racing season was the Lone Star Dwarf Car Club. It turned out to be a beautiful evening for racing and a nice crowd was on hand to enjoy some exciting racing. Next week HOT will host the Annual Gene Adamcik Memorial that will feature the Sprint Car Bandits plus five more classes of cars!

Modified Feature Winner: J.P. Dowell, No. 91, and Justin McCoy, No. 87x, drove a great race. J.P. managed to pass Justin a few laps into the race and hold him off for the exciting 20-lap $1,000 to win Modified feature. Having a strong run for third was Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, CAM Chassis Chase Allen, No. 130, was fourth and Kevin Green, No. 5, was fifth. Jeffrey Abbey, Chad Melton, Brandon Hood, Eric Tomlinson, and Ryan Williams rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

Justin Radcliff had a strong top three finish.

Race fans had a great view of the Modifieds heading into turn 1 from the new catwalk.

Brandon Geurin, No. 12, was a close second, coming on strong was Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, for the third spot, Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was fourth and Taylor Florio, No. 21t, was fifth. Chris Cogburn, Jeff Shepperd, Ronnie Bell Jr., Kamera McDonald, and Kyle Wilkins, rounded out the top ten. Thirteen cars started the feature.

The Touring Outlaw Modified Series open their racing season Saturday night at Southern Oklahoma Speedway

The LoneStar Dwarf Car Club returns to Kennedale Speedway Park this Saturday night

Kennedale Speedway Park will be running a full program this Saturday, March 17! This weeks racing program includes the IMCA Modifieds, Sportmods, Stock Cars, Factory Stocks, Jr. Mini Stocks, plus the LoneStar Dwarf Car Club! Gates open at 5 pm, racing starts at 7 pm! IMCA Modifieds will be running for $1,000 to win Friday night at Heart O Texas Speedways Jack Bagby Memorial

Heart O Texas Speedway News:

Heart O' Texas Speedway will be honoring another legend this week with the Jack Bagby Memorial $1,000 to win for IMCA Modifieds. Also on the show card for their first appearance of the 2018 season will be the Lone Star Dwarf Car Club. The IMCA Southern Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, Factory Stocks and Jr Minis will be in action as well. All Classes will be Draw/Redraw this week as well.
If you haven't made it out to the track yet this year, come on out and see all the great improvements as well as some great racing action.
