The Heart O Texas Speedways Annual IMCA Texas Shootout was rained out Sunday night

The racing action was heating up at the HOT Texas Shootout.

Hope everyone has had a great Memorial Day weekend! Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, was working on the second night of a Memorial Day Weekend double header. Friday was Military Appreciation night and Sunday night was the exciting IMCA Texas Shootout. With five classes of cars, there was a great car count in the pits. There was also a good crowd on hand that had their fingers crossed hoping to get a full race program in due to some weather in the area. The IMCA Modified's fourth and final heat was on the track when the rain started coming down. Race fans tickets will be good for any show at Heart O Texas Speedway except the Annual Fall Classic that will be held at the end of the season.

Charlie Thieme gets his first Modified feature win of the season at Kennedale Speedway Park

Charlie Thieme, No. t9, picked up his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Tommy Williams Jr., No. 151, drove a strong race, but with less than five laps to go, in the 20-lap feature, Charlie managed to power his way past Tommy to take the feature win. The hard charger goes to "CAM Chassis" Chase Allen, No. 930, who started dead last, to take the third spot. Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was fourth and Justin McCoy, No. 87, was fifth. M. Guillaume, D. Campbell, M. Skinner, J. Bransom, J. Gober, N. Littlejohn, C. Shoemaker, and D. Carter, rounded out the field. Thirteen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Veteran George White, No. 10, picked up another Sprint feature win. Weston Gorham, No. 71w, was second, Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was third, Christian Kennison, No. 82c, was fourth and Anton Hernandez, No. 11tx, was fifth. L. Scherb, Corby Scherb, S. Smith, Scott Scherb, B. Bryant, and C. Estes, rounded out the field. Eleven cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Dan Cavanaugh, No. 25j, got the feature win. James Skinner, No. 17s, was second, Kevin Manning, No. 8, was third, Luke Fritchen, No. 97f, was fourth and Bret Young, No. 69y, was fifth. T Foley, T. Webb, D. Bolf, T. Walp, and J. Hossler, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: "Kaptain" Kirk Martin, No. 69, got back into the winners circle. "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, drove a great race, but on the last lap, he got caught up in slower traffic, opening the door for Kirk to take the lead and the feature win. Craig Moss, No. 25, was third, Rhea Toney, No. 86, was fourth and Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fifth. C. Nabors, Jerrett Bransom, G. Nabors, D. Hammond, and R. Kahanek, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Cameron Cook, No. 04, drove a great race, but with one lap to go, he had a flat, allowing several cars to pass him. Taking the win was Mike Shackleford, No. 09, Chase Neill, No. 416, was second, Jeff Hauser, No. 18, was third, Duane Wolff, No. 10, was fourth and A.J. Gardner, No. 21, was fifth. T.Murray, J. Harcourt, C. Cook, K. Foster, and J. Grogg, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

600 A-class Feature Winner: Joey Starnes, No. 5b, was the feature winner. Joey was the winner at RPM Speedway Friday night also. Holden Anderson, No. 6a, was second, Marcus Thomas, No. 10, was third, Chase Brewer, No. 3c, was fourth and Brandon Anderson, No. 55b, was fifth. W. Gorham, C. Stubblefield, C. Wood, D. Justin Radcliff runs away with the IMCA Modified feature at Heart O Texas Speedway

Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, got the Memorial Day Weekend off to a great start with Military Appreciation Night! A good crowd was on hand to watch five classes of cars compete for cash and bragging rights! This was the first of two nights of racing at HOT this weekend. Racing continues Sunday with the IMCA Texas Shootout! The IMCA Texas Shootout features the Texas Sprint Series, IMCA Modifieds, SportMods, Stock Cars, Factory Stocks and the $3,000 to win Hobby Stocks! Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 7 p.m. Come on out and watch some great racing and celebrate Memorial Day at Heart O Texas Speedway!

Modified Feature Winner: It was a rough one, but Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, reeled in the IMCA Modified, 20-lap, feature. William McGuire, No. 9, settled for second, current points leader Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, was third, Jeff Hoegh, No. 97j, was fourth and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, was fifth. J. McCoy, W. Gould, T. Flanagan, B. Smith, and M. Berndt, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature.

William McGuire settled for a second place finish.

Jeff Hoegh, No. 97j, had a solid top five finish.

SportMod Feature Winner: T.J. Green's son won the Kids Power Wheel race. He told his dad he needed to win his feature race. T.J. Green, No. 5, got it done. James Guyton, No. 68, was second, Jeff Shepperd, No. 17, had a good run for third, Gabe Tucker, No. 195, was fourth and Chris Cogburn, No. 17, was fifth. C. Brunson, C. Gillie, T. Foley, J. Garcia, and G. Rawls, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Wade White, No. 68, wins a close one! Dillion Smith, No. 03, settled for second, Benji Kirkpatrick, No. 4725, came from the rear after spinning out, for third, Kenny Merritt, No. v18, was fourth and Robert Black, No. 07, was fifth. J. Frydrych, R. Warren, J. Wierenga, D. Toyne, A. Roller, G.W. Egbert IV, and G. Egbert, rounded out the field. Twelve-cars started the feature.

Benji Kirkpatrick ended up third in the feature.

Destroyer Chassis Darryl Campbell captured the Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

A great crowd was on hand at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. The exciting Trailer Race always seems to pack the place. Along with the Trailer Race, there were five classes of race cars.

In the IMCA Modified Feature, it was a good race between last weeks feature winner Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, and Joe Gomez, No. 21. With less than five laps to go, in the Modified 20-lap feature, those two racers got tangled up in turn 2, opening the door for "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, to take the lead and the feature win. Demetrius Carter, No. 44, ended up in second, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, settled for third, Joe Gomez, No. 21, was fourth and Matt Martin, No. 11, was fifth. M. McMillin, R. McKinney, J. McCoy, A. Benedict, and M. Guillaume, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner:  Last weeks Sprint feature winner, George White, No. 10, walked away with another feature win. D.J. Estes, No. 74, was second, Lucas Scherb, No. 22, was third, Payton "Wild Thing" Williams, No. 22x, was fourth and Logan Scherb, No. 18 was fifth. M. Thomas, B. Edwards, K. Reed, C. Estes, and J. Jenkins, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: A great race between Kevin Crawford, No. 777x, Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, and Tim Clonch, No. 18. Crawford took the exciting win. Pirkle and Clonch was too close to call! Pirkle ended up second, and Clonch settled for third. Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was fourth and John Freeman, No. 21f, had a good run for fifth. K. Manning, K. Honeycutt, J. Nabors, T. Davis Jr., and J. What a difference a week makes. Last Saturday, at Kennedale Speedway Park, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, rolled his IMCA Modified in the feature event. Saturday night Nicholas rolled his Modified on to the winners circle. Matt Martin, No. 11, got second, Tommy Williams Jr., No. 151, was third, Cody Shoemaker, No. 54, was fourth and Robbie Daniels, No. 27, was fifth. M. Guillaume, M. Skinner, M. McMillin, D. Pike, and J. Bransom, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Dillion Pike's beautiful IMCA Modified had a top ten finish.

Zack VanderBeek defeated Chris Brown for the USMTS win at Kennedale Speedway Park

Zack Vanderbeek was the USMTS Modified feature winner.

The Summit Racing Equipment Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) continued their Texas Tour with a Friday night special at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, TX. One hundred and fourteen cars were in the pits and a great crowd was on hand to watch some racing. KSP is a high speed, semi-banked, 1/4-mile clay oval. This was the third of four nights of exciting USMTS racing action! The Texas Tour finishes up Saturday at the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, TX. Along with the USMTS Modifieds, the program will include the exciting Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks! 

Zack VanderBeek got it together to take the feature win.

USMTS Feature Winner: Several USMTS Modifieds battled it out for the lead in the $3,000 to win, 40-lap, main event. After the dust settled, Zack VanderBeek, No. 33z, who had a strong run at Heart O Texas Speedway, Wednesday night, took the checkered flag for the exciting feature win. Chris Brown, No. 21, was second, Jason Hughes, No. 12, was third, his running mate Ryan "the Reeper" Gustin, No. 19r, was fourth and R.C. Whitwell, No. 96, was fifth. C. Dillard, S. Scott, D. Ramirez, T. Wolff, and J. Duvall, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature. There was a total of thirty Modifieds in the pits.

Chris Brown had a solid second.

SportMod Feature Winner: Nick Clinkenbeard, No. 66, held off Kevin Rowland, No. 4r, who won the SportMod feature Wednesday night at Heart O Texas Speedway, for the $1,000 feature win. Bo Day, No. 4, settled for third, Johnny Torres, No. 66, was fourth and Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, was fifth. J. Nabors, G. Frazier, G. Rawls, R. Day, and F. Lackey, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature. There were thirty-one SportMods in the house. The 20-lap main event was worth $1,000 to win.

Stormy Scott storms past Ryan Gustin to take the USMTS feature at Heart O Texas Speedway

The Summit Racing Equipment Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) continued their Texas Tour with a Wednesday Night Special at Heart O Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, TX. HOT is a high speed, semi-banked, 1/4-mile clay oval. This was the first of four nights of exciting USMTS racing action! The Texas Tour rolls on Thursday night to the Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, TX, Friday night to Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, TX and wrapping up the Texas Tour Saturday night at the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, TX. Along with the USMTS Modifieds, each program will also include the exciting Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks! 

Stormy Scott talked about how tuff it was to get around Gustin.

USMTS Feature Winner: Ryan "the Reeper" Gustin, No. 19r, looked to have this one. But with one lap to go, in the $3,000-to-win, 40-lap USMTS feature event at Heart O Texas Speedway, Stormy Scott, No. 2s, slipped past Ryan, in turns 1 and 2, to take the exciting feature win. Coming from the nineteenth spot to third was Zack VanderBeek, No. 33z, local "CAM Chassis" Chase Allen, No. 130, was fourth and Chris Brown, No. 21, was fifth. C. Dillard, D. Ramirez, R.C. Whitwell, J. Hughes, and T. Egbert, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature. There were thirty Modifieds in the house.

Dillion Pike pulls out a Modified feature win in a wild one at Kennedale Speedway Park

Dillion Pike was the Modified feature winner.

It was a wild and crazy night at Kennedale Speedway Park. In the IMCA Modified 20-lap feature, several cars battled for the lead. When the checkered flag waived, Dillion Pike, No. 6*, was declared the feature winner. "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was second, Robert McKinney, No.19, was third, Charles Thieme, No. T9, was fourth and Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fifth. M. McMillin, C. Shoemaker, B. Wilten, D. Carter, and T. Williams Jr., rounded out the top ten. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Nicholas Littlejohn was involved in a wreck during the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Chad Wilson, No. 20, got the Sprint feature win. Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was second, Lucas Scherb, No. 22, was third, Tony Dowd, No. 11t, was fourth and Britney Bryant, No. 99b, was fifth. Logan Scherb, S. Gloeckler, D.J. Estes, J.D. Fry, and S. Nabors, and J. Riddle, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.
