Jeb Sessums gets second Sprint feature win of the season at Kennedale Speedway Park

It was a beautiful evening at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Another great crowd was on hand and a good field of cars were in the pits. The always exciting IMCA RaceSaver Sprints lead off the racing program. Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, who won the Sprint feature last week, started from the seventh spot and slowly worked his way to the front and on to the feature win. This was Jeb's second Sprint feature win in-a-row of the young racing season. Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, who was involved in a bad Mini-Sprint wreck during his heat race, had a solid run for second place, Logan Scherb, No. 18, was third, Kyle Jones, No. 04, was fourth and John "the Rocket" Ricketts, No. 5r, was fifth. T. Russell, C. Estes, W. Gorham, D. Steed, and C. Scherb, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Chase Allen, No. 930, and William Gould, No. 60, made for an exciting finish in the Modified 20-lap A-main. On the last lap, Gould slid under Allen in turns 3 and 4, but Allen managed to get back around him and take the exciting win. Matt Guillaume, No. 50, had a good run for third, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, was fourth and Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was fifth. M. McMillin, T. Williams Jr., R. Mckinney, J. Emerson, and D. Carter, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, had a top five finish.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jeremy Carter, No. 25c, picked up his first feature win of the season. John Rabozzi, No. 90, was second, James Skinner, No. 17s, was third, Danny Cavanagh, No. 25j, was fourth, and Dustin Robinson, No. 10x, was fifth. J. Freeman, F. Lackey, K. Manning, C. Mohler, and R. Holbert, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: "Kaptain" Kirk Martin, No. 69, has a rocket ship. Kirk won Friday night at Boyd Raceway and Saturday night he picked up his second feature win this season at KSP. Justin Fowler, No. 148, was second, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was fourth and Doug Kahanek II, No. 5k, was fifth. L. Blackwood, G. Nabors, R. Shipman, R. Garcia, and C. Nabors, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Chase Neill, No. 416, was your Factory Stock feature winner. Jonathan Capps, No. 5j, was second, Kevin Manning, No. 8, was third, Tony Juliano, No. 8t5, was fourth and Tim Murry, No. 20, was fifth. B. Pritchett, K. Magar, R. Tidwell, D. Shipman, and J. Miller, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

600 A-class Feature Winner: Jason Tyer, No. 12, lead every lap of the 20-lap feature. Steven Smith, No. 3s, was second, Chase Brewer, No. 3c, had a strong run for third, Kyle Jones, No. 04, was fourth and Bryan Debrick, No. 10, was fifth. J. Sessums, W. Gorham, B. Ross, T. Goad, and J.C. Haddock, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Brody Ross, No. 1r, had a top ten finish.

Marcus Thomas was in a bad wreck during his heat race.

Dean Abbey holds off William Gould for the Modified feature win at Boyd Raceway

Dean Abbey, No. 26, held off Oklahoma's William Gould, No. 60, for the exciting IMCA Modified feature victory at the "Bullring" Boyd Raceway Friday night. The wind, along with the racers, stirred up quite a bit of dust during the races. It didn't seem to bother Dean as he got the win in the 20-lap feature. William Gould, No. 60, settled for second, Chad Melton, No. 71m, had a strong run for third, Michael Ables, No. 61, was fourth and Daniel Van Haitsma, No. 15v, was fifth. Nine cars started the feature.

William Gould had a strong second place finish.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jeffrey Abbey said he started to stay at home, but it was a good thing that he came out. He got his fourth feature win in-a-row. Jake Upchurch, No. 24, had a solid run for second, Gabe Tucker, No. 95, was third, Kevin Crawford, No. 777, was fourth and Jay Coone, No. 72, was fifth. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Kirk Martin, No. 69, picked up the IStock win at Kennedale Speedway Park last Saturday night. Friday night at Boyd he got another feature win. Brandon Taylor, No.5*, was second, Tommy Phillips, No. 172, was third, Jason Brooks, No. 4b, was fourth and Damon Hammond, No. 116 , was fifth. Eight cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Several racers battled it out for the 20-lap feature win. When the dust settled, it was veteran Charlie Wilson, No. 55, taking the checkered flag. Tom Earl, No. 47, was second, Ricky Sessions, No. 7, was third, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was fourth and Terry Dumas, No. 55d, was fifth. A good field of twenty-one cars started the feature.

After two weeks of wet weather, it was great to see the sunshine at Kennedale Speedway Park. A good crowd was on hand and they were ready to see some exciting racing. The racers did not disappoint. Check out the Stock Car feature finish below!

In the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature, it was not smooth sailing for some of the racers. George While, No. 10, and Ryan Hall, No. 79, took a hard roll down the back straight-a-way. Neither driver appeared to be injured. A few laps later, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 21x, hit a rut and lost his rear wheel. That opened the door for Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, to sprint to the lead and to victory. John "the Rocket" Ricketts, No. 5r, settled for second, Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was third, Kyle Jones, No. 04, was fourth and Claud Estes, No. 74e, was fifth. T. Russell, J. Emerson, D.J. Estes, S. Thompson, and J.D. Fry, rounded out the top ten. A good field of twenty-one cars started the feature.

George White and Ryan Hall were involved in a bad wreck.

Modified Feature Winner: Oklahoma's William Gould, No. 60, picked up his 100th IMCA Modified feature win Friday night at Heart O Texas Speedway. William started a new streak Saturday night at KSP by taking the 20-lap Modified A-main. Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, had a good run for second, Robert McKinney, No. 19, was third, Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was fourth and Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fifth. J. Emerson, D. Campbell, D. Abbey, W. Dulock, and J. Bransom, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Robert McKinney, No. 19, had a solid run for third.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, put this one away early. Jacob made it look easy. Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was closing fast, but ended up second, Jake Upchurch, No. 24, was third, James Skinner, was fourth and James McCreery, No. 13j, was fifth. K. McDonald, D. Easterling, B. Harris, J. Willis, and R. Allison, roundeed out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: It doesn't get any closer than this. Damon Hammond, No. 116, did everything but win this exciting race. Sadly at the finish line, he came up about a foot short. Kirk Martin, No. 69, squeezed through the corner for the win. Tyler Muirhead, No. 22t, was third, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and Ryan Powers, No. 12r, was fifth. L. Blackwood, G. Nabors, C. Nabors, R. Toney, and R. Garcia, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.  

Jerrett Bransom moved up to a IMCA Stock Car this season.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Close race between Ricky Sessions, No. 7, and A.J. Gardner, No. 21. Sessions took the feature win. Casey Lyles, No. 27, was third, Chance Morris, No. 6, was fourth and Mike Shackleford, No. 09, was fifth. J. Lough, J. Kinnaird, K. Magar, D. Hammond, and J. Capps, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature.

William Gould gets his 100th career Modified feature win at Heart O Texas Speedway

Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, celebrated St. Patricks Day Friday night. When the green flag dropped, a good field of racers competed for the green in seven different classes of cars. In the exciting IMCA Modified A-main, several cars battled for the lead. With two laps to go, in the 20-lap A-main, a caution came out with Jeff Hoegh, No. 97j, in the lead. On the restart, last years Modified champion Kevin Green, No. 5, and former IMCA National Modified Champion William Gould, No. 60, slipped underneath Jeff as they battled for the lead. William Gould managed to hold off Kevin Green for the exciting win. This was William Goulds impressive 100th IMCA Modified feature win. Current HOT Modified points leader Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, was fourth and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, was fifth. J. Radcliff, D. Goode, B. Walker, W. McGuire, and C.J. Gray, rounded out the top ten. Fiftheen cars started the feature.

Jeff Hoegh, No. 97j, had a strong run for third place.

SportMods Feature Winner: It was a close finish between James Guyton, No. 68, and Jeff Shepperd, No. 17, in the SportMod feature. They finished first and second. Chris Cogburn, No. 601, was third, Ronnie Bell, No. 95, was fourth and T.J. Green, No. 5, was fifth. D.L. Wilson, S. Kiphen, J. Hanusch, G, Burnett, and T. Florio, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Jr.Mini Stock Feature Winner: Bradly Warren, No. 34w, was the feature winner. Austin Moore, No. 88, was second, Trevor Cogburn, No. 601, was third, Jack Johnson, No. 22j, was fourth and Jesse Shepperd, No. 17, was fifth.  

Lone Star Dwarf Car Club Feature Winner: It was a night of first for Grant Prejean, No. 17. This was his first time to race on dirt, his first time in a Dwarf Car and Grant proved to be a first rate driver. Settling for second was Carl Davis, No. 81, Ty McCoy, No. 4, was third, Jason Bellows, No. 10, was fourth and Mark Williams, No. 14, was fifth. B. Mayfield, E. Mayfield, D. Rude, J.R. Gregory, and D. Simental, rounded out the top ten. Twenty cars started the feature.

Joe Sheddan, No. 138, settled for the thirteenth spot.

Tyler Russell wins the first Elite Sprint feature of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway

Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, held their Annual Gordon Woolley Classic Friday night. There was quite a bit of weather in the area, but HOT was able to get the races in. Six classes of cars competed with the Elite Non-Wing Sprint Car Series holding their first race of the season.

Elite Sprint Feature Winner: Local favorite Paul White, No. 33, lead every lap, except the most important one, the last one. Paul went a little too strong into turn 1 and lost control allowing Tyler Russell, No. 8kk, to race by him and take the $1,000 feature win. Coming in second was a hard charging Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, Justin Zimmerman, No. 1, was third, Johnny Miller, No. 64, was fourth and Blake Edwards, No. 36, was fifth. White, Debrick, Vetter, Miller, and Gunnels, rounded out the top ten. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Justin McCoy, No. 87, lead the first four laps of the Modified feature. It must have felt like twenty-laps after all the early cautions. On the fifth lap Justin spun out in turn 4 and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, took over the point. Last year's Modified champion, Kevin Green, No. 5, managed to power past Brandon for the lead and the feature win. Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, took second, Justin McCoy settled for third, Brandon Hood, was fourth and Robert Scrivner, No. 58, was fifth. Gould, Radcliff, Frydrych, Walker, and Banker, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: T.J. Green, No. 5, picked up his first feature win of the season. Garrett Rawls, No. 4g, was second, James Guyton, No. 68, was third, Chris Cogburn, was fourth, and James Hanusch, was fifth. Young, Scott, Shepperd, Burnett, and Holbert, rounded out the top ten. Thirteen cars started the feature.

Eric Tomlinson takes the $1,000 Modified Jack Bagby Memorial at Heart O Texas Speedway

Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, cranked up it's 51st season with the Annual Jack Bagby Memorial. Six classes of cars competed with the IMCA Modifieds and the SportMods running for a kool $1,000 to win in their feature races. The IMCA Stock Cars ran for $500 to win. A special thanks goes out to IRP Race Cars and CAM Chassis for helping sponsor the races. 

Modified Feature Winner: Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, ran off with this one until a caution came out with one lap to go. On the restart, William Gould, No. 60, gave it all he had, but came up a little short and settled for the second spot. Chris Elliott, No. 915, was third, Kevin Green, No. 5, was fourth and David Goode , No. 13g, was fifth. D. Grantham, B. Walker, F. Wojtek, J. McGaha, and J. Frydrych, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature. This was a Fast Shaft All Star Invitational Ballot Race.

SportMod Feature Winner: Justin Nabors, No. 28, lead every lap for an impressive $1,000 to win victory. Chris Cogburn, No. 601, was second, Gabe Tucker, No. 195, was third, Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was fourth and James Skinner, No. 17s, was fifth. R. White, G. Rawls, J. Upchurch, W. Melton, and J. Shepperd, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.
