Heart O Texas Speedway (Elm Mott)

Heart O Texas Speedway, in Elm Mott, TX, held their Annual Fall Classic. A good size crowd and a large car count were on hand Saturday for the finale night of racing for the 2016 season. Nine classes of cars competed in the Annual Fall Classic for cash, trophies, and bragging rights. In the IMCA Modified feature, Dean Abbey, No. 26, got the $1,500 win. Robert Scrivner, No. 53, had a strong showing for second, Hardy Henderson, No. 63, was third, Jake Henderson, No. 1x, was fourth and Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fifth. Jupe, Frydrych, McSpadden, Goode Jr., and Tomlinson, rounded out your top ten. Chase Allen, No. 9, and Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, had a good run, but both were caught up in a wreck half way through the feature. Twenty-four cars started the feature.
Hardy Henderson had a solid top five finish.

Southern Texas Late Model Series (STLMS) Feature Winner: Jim Moon, No. 1, picked up his first feature win at HOT. Jay Sale, No. 4, was second, Austin Theiss, No. 7d, was third, Brandon Brzozowski, No. 104, was fourth and Skip O'Neil, No. 17b, was fifth. Harmon, Egbert, Manchester, Hog, and Hardage, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.
Skip O'Neil and the Late Models put on a great show for the fans.

SportMod Feature Winner: 2016 SportMod Champion T.J. Green, No. 5, lead every lap for the $1,000 win. Jeff Shepperd, No. 17, was a close second, Chris Florio, No. 21, was third, Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was fourth and Ronnie Bell, No. 95, was fifth. Rawls, Goode, Freeman, Birmingham, and T. Florio, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Andy Roller, No. 63, and Benji Kirkpatrick, No. 4725, were in a close race. Andy came out ahead for the win. Eric Jones, No. 84x, was third, Westin Abbey, No. 12, was fourth and Chad Estes, No. 83, was fifth. Hood, Williams, Boatright, O'Bryan, and Riddle rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Hobby Stock Feature Winner: Jeremy Oliver, No. 82, started from the eighth position, but finished first. Shannon Dulock, No. 47, was second, Wesley Warren, No. 75, was third, Joe Williams, No. 32, was fourth and Hayden Wade, No. 8w3, was fifth. Hendrix, Wininger, Kornegay, Hunt, Brunson, and Snyder, rounded out the field. Eleven cars started the feature.

Street Stock Feature Winner: Mark McDaniel, No. 68, was the feature winner. Benji Kirkpatrick, No. 4725, was second, Tristan Carman, No. 4, was third, Archie Whitt Jr., No. 46, was fourth and Kevin Smith, No. 181, was fifth. Garcia, Ellis, Cox, and Hunt, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Melvin Kemp Jr., No. 54, came out of retirement, to take the feature win. Chase Neil, No. 410, had a good run for second, Blaine Simcik, No. 4d4, was third, Ryan Hopkins, No. 4, was fourth and Ruben Broussard, No. 51, was fifth. Powers, White, Wilkins, Shackleford, and Fowler, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Outlaw Mini Stock Feature Winner: Rickey Shepard, No. 51, was the feature winner. Johnie Rauschenburg, No. 21r, was second, Jon White, No. 6, was third, Jay Baggett, No. 157, was fourth and Lee Praytor, No. 0, was fifth. Bailey, Stone, Sanchez, Payne, and Miller, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: 2016 Champion Colton Rawls, No. 08, won another one. Austin Moreland, No. 54, was second, Austin Moore, No. 88, was third, and Trevor Cogburn, No. 601, rounded out the field.
The kids really enjoyed the Trick or Treat candy by the racers.
Gordon Woolley recently celebrated his ninety-fourth birthday.
A great crowd was on hand to watch the Annual Fall Classic.
