Brandon Hood holds off Darryl Campbell to take the Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

It was another awesome night of racing at Kennedale Speedway Park. The weather was perfect. A nice crowd was on hand and over one hundred and sixty cars competed in seven different classes. In the IMCA Modified 20-lap feature, Brandon Hood, No. 1b, held off several challenges to take the exciting feature win. Destroyer Chassis Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was second, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, was third, Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fourth and Matt Martin, No. 11, was fifth. Gober, Bransom, Shoemaker, Miles, and McMillin, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Chad Wilson Motorsports, No. 20, was the feature winner. Raven Culp, No. 3, was in hot pursuit, but settled for second. Kyle Jones, No. 04, had a solid run for third, D.J. Estes, No. 74, was fourth and Tyler Russell, No. 8kk, was fifth. Steed, Lawrence, Gorham, L. Scherb, and Thomas, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-six Sprints started the feature.

Bryan Debrick was involved in a wreck during his heat.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, was declared the feature winner. This makes his fourth feature win in-a-row. Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was second, John Freeman, No. 21f, had a good run for third, James McCreery, No. 13j, was fourth and Gerald Henderson, No. 551, was fifth. Rabozzi, Covey, Llich, Burt, and Leithner, rounded out the top ten. Kevin Roland, No. 4r, appeared to take the win, but he did not pass tech. Twenty-three cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Destroyer Chassis Darryl Campbell, No. 83, held off Damon Hammond, No. 116, for the feature win. Mark Adams, No. 82, had a good run, but ended up third, Craig Moss, No. 25, was fourth and Justin Fowler, No. 148, was fifth. Cosper, Roller, Blackwood, Bransom, and Toney, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Several cars had a chance to win this one, but when the dust had settled, Chance Morris, No. 6, was the winner. Ruben Broussard, No. 51, was second, Jeffrey Kinnaird, No. 07, ran hard for third, Jeff Hauser, No. 18, was fourth and Willie Tryon, No. 21t, was fifth. Shackleford, Lough, Barton, Wolff, and Smitherman, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-five cars started the feature.

600 A-class Feature Winner: A great race between Chase Brewer, No. 3, and Kyle Jones, No. 04. Chase took the win on the last lap. No. 29, was third, Weston Gorham, No. 71w, was fourth and Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was fifth. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: Patrick Bailey, No. 5x, picked up the win. Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, was second, Casey Merrell, No. 41, was third, Blake Clark, No. 88, was fourth, and Jordan Hefler, No. 02, was fifth. R. Shipman, J. Hefler, and D. Shipman, rounded out the field.

Thunder storms rolled through Elm Mott Friday night. Heart O Texas Speedway managed to miss the severe weather, but a light rain delayed the start of the races for about an hour. The first of seven classes of cars was the IMCA Modifieds. Eighteen cars started the 20-lap feature, with Heart O Texas owner Jerry Frydrych, No. 13, taking the win. William McGuire, No. 9, had a good run for second, Brandon Hood, No. 1b, looked like he might get the feature win, but he settled for third, Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, was fourth and Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fifth. Daniel, K. Green, Bernett, Walker, and Tomlinson, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Sportmod Feature Winner: Garett Rawls, No. 4g, held off James Guyton, No. 68, for the win. Ronnie Bell, No. 95, was third, Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was fourth and Brandon Geurin, No. 12, was fifth. UpChurch, T. Florio, Shepperd, Hughes, and J. Abbey, No. 37, rounded out the top ten. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Robert Black, No. 07, was the feature winner. Eric Jones, No. 84x, was second, Travis Norman, No. 3x, was third, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was fourth and Wade White, No. 68, was fifth. Dwarf Car Feature Winner: A great race between David Garland, No. 02, and Danny Rodgers, No. 37. Danny got caught up in lap traffic, allowing David to take the win. Ty McCoy, No. 4, was third, Scott Prejean, No. 71, was fourth and Jeffrey Patterson, No. 28, was fifth. Sheddan, Brooker, Shahan, Hearne, and Davis, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: A different race, same results. Colton Rawls, No. 08, was the run-a-way winner. Blake Clark, No. 88, was second, Bradly Warren, No. 34w, was third and Austin Moore, No. 88, was fourth.

Rain in the area delayed the races for about an hour.

Several area dirt tracks were rained out this weekend allowing for more race cars to come to Kennedale Speedway Park. In the Factory Stock feature, over fifty cars competed for the $500 to-win first place prize money. Five heats and two B-mains narrowed the field down to twenty-four cars in the 20-lap feature. WCH Racing Engines Chase Neil, No. 416, held off Duane Wolff, No. 10, to take the $500 first place money. Chris Davis, No. 98, had a solid run for third, Justin McNeill, No. 189, was fourth and Trey Smitherman, No. 96, was fifth. J. Cook, Shackleford, Hauser, Lyles, and Kinnaird, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature. Thanks to Mike Frieri and DWB Designs for their sponsorship.

Modified Feature Winner: Dean Abbey, No. 26, ended up the feature winner in a wild one. George White, No. 10, looked to have this one, but with less than five laps to go, he ran into John Gober, No. 52, going into turn one. As a result of the wreck, Tommy Williams, No. 151, and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, were also taken out. The second and third place cars. Abbey, took over first, Justin McCoy, No. 87, ended up second, Jeff Emerson, No. 35, settled for third, Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was fourth and Brandon McElroy, No. 151x, was fifth. Campbell. Sartain, Thieme, Allen, and Bransom, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature.

John Gober took a hard hit in the Modified feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: A good race between D.J. Estes, No. 74, and Ryan Hall, No. 79v. D.J. held on for the win. Trey Schmidt, No. 12, was third, Logan Scherb, No. 18, was fourth and Jeff Emerson, No. 35, was fifth. Jones, Thomas, Shouse, Gorham, and C. Scherb, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Matt Martin makes it three Modified feature wins in-a-row at Kennedale Speedway Park

Matt Martin was the Modified feature winner.

There was a major wreck on the second lap of the Modified feature at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Tommy Williams, No. 151, along with four other fast Modifieds were taken out in turn 1. The wreck put last week's Modified feature winner on the front row of the 20-lap feature. Matt Martin, No. 11, didn't waste any time picking up where he left off last week by taking his third Modified feature win in-a-row. His fourth Modified feature win of the season. Dean Abbey, No. 26, ended up second, Chad Melton, No. 71, was third, Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, was fourth and John Gober, No. 52, was fifth. Bransom, Allen, McCoy, Emerson, and Campbell, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Several cars were involved in a bad wreck during the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, took the $1,200 to win Sprint feature. John Ricketts, No. 5r, had a strong run, for second, Weston Gorham, No. 71w, lead several laps, but ended up third, Chad Wilson, No. 20, was the hard charger coming from the back of the pack to finish fourth, and Michelle Melton, No. 21, was fifth. Williams, Emerson, L. Scherb, Lawrence, and C. Estes, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature. Thanks to Rafter P. Construction Inc. for sponsoring our Sprints!

Jr Mini Stock Feature Winner: Ranger Shipman, No. 57r, defeated Casey Merrell, No. 41, for the win. Hefler, No. 02, appeared to take the win, but was later DQ'd, and finally Blake Clark, No. 88, DNS. Nine cars started the feature.

Dwarf Car Feature Winner: "Little" Joe Sheddan, "the Black Dragon", No. 138, the current Lone Star Dwarf Club points leader, slid past David Garland, No. 02, on the last lap to take the exciting feature win. Jaron Shahan, No. 7, was third, Dick Brooker, No. 15, was fourth and Scott Prejean, No. 71m was fifth. Davis, Hearne, Miller, Williams, and Glick, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.

No. J.R. Gregory, 20x, was involved in a wreck during his heat race.
