Matt Martin wins his second Modified feature in-a-row at Kennedale Speedway Park

Matt Martin, No. 11, has found his groove. Saturday night, at Kennedale Speedway Park, Matt picked up his third Modified feature win of the season and his second Modified feature win in-a-row. Mitch McMillin, No. 61, had a good run before being past by Matt. Chad Melton, No. 71, gave Matt a run for his money, but settled for second. McMillin, ended up third, Brandon Hood, No. 1b, was fourth and Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fifth. Campbell, Emerson, Williams Jr., Rutherford, and Thieme, rounded out the top ten. Oklahoma's Willam Gould, No. 60., had a strong run, but with less than five laps to go, William had a flat tire and settled for the fourteenth position. A good field of Twenty-two cars started the feature. 

Chad Melton had a strong run but settled for second.

Sprint Feature Winner: Jason Howell, No. 72p, had a strong run, but a few laps into the 20-lap feature, he was past by Chad Wilson, No. 20. Chad was running strong until a front left flat tire took him out. With less than five laps to go, Tyler Russell, put a slide job on Howell, taking the lead and the feature win. Kyle Jones, No. 04, ended up second, Howell, settled for third, Jeff Emerson, No. 35, was fourth and Dustin Woods, No. 00, was fifth. L. Scherb, White, Klis Jr., Littlejohn, and Starnes, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-six cars started the feature.

Bob Odom was involved in a bad wreck during his heat race.

SportMod Feature Winner: A great race between Luke Fritchen, No. 97f, and Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, for the SportMod feature. With three laps to go, in the 20-lap feature, Jacob Pirkle managed to slip past Fritchen for the win. Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was third, Austin Gooding, No. 26, was fourth and Tyler Bragg, No. 24t, was fifth. Yant, Freeman, McDonald, Rowland, and Haney, rounded out the top ten. A large field of twenty-five cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: A good run by "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, but with two laps to go, Jay Bransom, No. 29, past Darryl for the lead and the feature win. Westin Abbey, No. 12, was third, Jason Riddle, No. 35, was fourth and Flyn Ryan Powers, No. r12, was fifth. Moss, Nabors, Roller, Golightly, and Christopher, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

Kirk Martin was invoived in a wreck during the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: A good race between Randy Butterly, No. 06 , Chase Neil, No. 416, and Jeffrey Kinnaird, No. 07. Buttery held off Neil to take the exciting win. Kinnaird, No. 07, was third, Cameron Cook, No. 04, was fourth and Kenny Magar, No. 84, was fifth. Strain, Bruce, Shackleford, J. Cook, and Barton, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-six cars started the feature. 

Jeffrey Kinnaird had a top five finish.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: Danner Shipman, No. 75, was the winner. Blake Clark, No. 88, was second, Ranger Shipman, No. 57r, was third, Patrick Bailey, No. 5x, was fourth and Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, was fifth. Eveven cars started the feature.

Sean Jones was the TOMS feature winner at the RPM Speedway Annual Hella Shrine Classic

Sean Jones was the TOMS Modified feature winner.

RPM Speedway, in Crandall, TX, held their Annual Hella Shrine Classic Friday night. A great crowd and a good car count was on hand for a great cause. There were five classes of cars with the featured class being the impressive Texas Outlaw Modified Series. A full field of thirty-two TOMS Modifieds were in the house. In the 25-lap, $1,500 to win, twenty-four cars A feature, Sean Jones, No. 24, worked his way past Sam Cox, No. 3, for the lead and the feature win. Bobby Malcus, No. 4m, ended up second, current points leader Triston Dycus, No. 14t, had a strong run for third, Billy Melton. No. 18, was fourth and Max Eddie Thomas, No. 57t, was fifth. Wheeler, Ruffin, Taylor, Cox, and Houston, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Chad Wilson, No. 20, held off Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, for the win. John  Ricketts, No. 5r, was third, Robert "v8" Vetter, No. v8, was fourth, and Justin Melton, No. 11, was fifth. Russell, Starnes, Mundie, Wester, and Graham, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

USA Limited Modified Feature Winner: Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was the big winner. Tory Yant, No. 00, was second, Wayne Melton, No. 18m, was third, Tony Staats, No. 25, was fourth and Ronnie Sigman, No. 25c, was fifth. Troutman, Luttrell, McCall, Davis, and Melton, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Tommy Davis Jr., No. 171m, had a good run, but seven laps into the 20-lap feature, Chris Davis, No. 98, past him. Chris appeared to take the win, but after the race, his motor was claimed, he declined, giving the win to Mike Smith, No. 21m. Mike barely beat Tommy Davis Jr., No. 171m, who ended up second, Randy Butterly, No. 06, was third, Tommy McKinley, No. 71m, was fourth and Jeff Sonntag, No. 73, was fifth. Williams, Troutman, Gatlin, Gore, and Morphis, rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

600 A-class Feature Winner: Colby Stubblefield, No. 2, was the run-a-way winner. Marcus Thonmas, No. 15t, was second, Weston Gorham, No. 71w, was third, Colton Corbin, No. 29, was fourth and Holden Anderson, No. 6a, was fifth. Carter, Sessums, Tipton, Adams, and Burkham, rounded out the top ten. Twelve cars started the feature.

Kyle Jones was the winner in two classes at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night

Kyle Jones was the big winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Not only did Kyle win the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature, but he also won the Dwarf Car feature. In the Sprint feature, a full field of twenty-six Sprints started the 20-lap feature. Bryan Debrick, No. 10x, had a great run, but Kyle, No. 04, managed to get past him and take the exciting feature win. Colby Estes, No. 71, was third, Matt Etzelmiller, No. 17, was fourth and Justin Melton, No. 11, was fifth. Shouse, L. Scherb, White, Emerson, and Hall, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-six cars started the feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Last week, Matt Martin, No. 11, had no luck. While leading the Modified feature, he got spun out. This week, Matt got lucky and started on the front and lead every lap of the 20-lap feature. Jeff Emerson, No. 35, was second, Josh McGaha, No. 911, was third, Destroyer Chassis Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fifth. Bragg, M. Skinner, Gober, Rutherford, and Earl III, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Great race between Robert Scrivner, No. 53s, and last weeks winner Jake UpChurch, No. 24. With two laps to go, Robert managed to slip past Jake to take the exciting win. Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was third, Kamera McDonald, No. 62k, was fourth and Brett Young, No. 69y, was fifth. Llich, Bragg, Hanusch, Allison, and Hossler, rounded out the top ten. Fifthteen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Wild Child Damon Hammond, No. 116, held off Westin Abbey, No. 12, for the win. Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Flyn Ryan Powers, No. r12, was fourth and Aaron Benedict, No. 77a, was fifth. Taylor, Moss, Campbell, Nabors, and Crenshaw, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: A full field of twenty-six Factory Stock drivers did a great job of going flag to flag without a caution. Mike Shacklelford, No. 09, took the checkered flag. Ruben Broussard, No. 51, was second, Ricky Sessions, No. 7, was third, Jeff Kinnaird, No. 07, was fourth and Kenny Magar, No. 84, was fifth. Gardner, Lackey, Cavens, Gunn, and Gafford Jr., rounded out the top ten. Twenty-six cars started the feature.

Jr Mini Stock Feature Winner: In one of the best races of the evening, Patrick Bailey, No. 5x, defeated Blake Clark, No. 88, by a bumper for the exciting win. Casey Merrell, No. 41, was third, Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and Ranger Shipman, No. 57r, was fifth. Eight cars started the feature.

Dwarf Car Feature Winner: Kyle Jones, No. 55, picked up his second feature win of the evening. He was the run-a-way winner. J.R. Prejean, Hearne, Hammons, McKinney, and Looney, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

Channin Tankersley gets second ASCS Sprint win of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway

Channin Tankersley was the ASCS Sprint feature winner.

Current Points leader Channin Tankersley, No. 14, picked up his second ASCS Gulf South Region, presented by Southern Trailer Works, win of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway Friday night at the Waco Metals Shootout. The 2014 ASCS Gulf South Champion started from the sixth position and worked his way to the front to take the $2,000 feature win. Tommy Bryant, Sawblade.com, No. 28, was second, Jacob Lucas, No. 57, was third, Hari White, No. 17w, was fourth and Caleb Martin, No. 51, was fifth. Kulhanek, Lawrence, Ramey, Culp, and C. Estes, rounded out the top ten. Nineteen cars started the feature.

It's showtime for the Brandie Jass, No. 24, Sprint.

Michael Lang balanced his Sprint on two wheels.

Current IMCA RaceSaver Sprints National points leader Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, picked up his first Sprint feature win of the season at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Chase Parson, No. 57, had a solid run, but Marcus managed to get around him and take the exciting feature win. Veteran racer George White, No. 10, ended up second, Parson, settled for third, Kyle Jones, No. 04, was fourth and Tyler Russell, No. 8kk, was fifth. D. Estes, Littlejohn, L. Scherb, Gloeckler, and Etzelmiller, rounded out the top ten. A solid field of twenty Sprints started the 20-lap feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Matt Guillaume, No. 50, won the Modified feature, but it wasn't easy. With less than five laps to go, Matt and Dean Abbey, No. 91j, got together in turn four allowing Dean to take over the second spot. As Dean went into turn 1, he got together with Matt Martin, No. 11, who was leading the race at the time and ended up spinning him out. Dean was DQ'd, Matt Martin had to go to the rear of the field and Matt Guillaume took over the top spot. Matt finished the race without another incident and took the checkered flag for a hard earned win. Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was second, Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was third, Robert McKinney, No. 119, was fourth and Jack Sartain, No. 47, was fifth. Gober, McCoy, Tomlinson, Melton, and Bransom, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jake UpChurch, No. 24, had a solid run in his new Express Chassis SportMod, but Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, managed to work his way past him for the feature win. Jacob Pirkle, No. 141, was third, Frank Lackey, No. 41m, was  fourth and Austin Gooding, No. 26, was fifth. Kahanek, McDonald, Young, Freeman, and Fritchen, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Kyle Jones was the RaceSaver 305 Sprint feature winner at Boyd Raceway Friday night

It was a warm summer evening at Boyd Raceway Friday night. A good crowd was on hand to watch six classes of cars plus the exciting RaceSaver 305 Sprints. Fifteen Sprints battled it out in the 20-lap feature. Three laps into the A-main, Kyle Jones, No. 04, put a slide job on Logan Scherb, No. 18, and Kyle was off to the races. Scherb, settled for second, Michelle Melton, No. 21, had a good run for third, Chase Brewer, No. 1, was fourth and Chad Wilson, No. 20, rounded out the top five. Fifteen cars started the feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Tom Earl III, No. 47, held off a strong field of Modifieds to take the 20-lap feature. Dean Abbey, No. 91j, was second, John Gober, No. 52, was third, Chad Melton, No. 71m, was fourth and Fred Wojtek, No. 44x, was fifth. Oklahoma's William Gould, No. 60, settled for sixth. Thirteen cars started the feature.

Nine cars started the feature.

Darryl Campbell defeats Matt Martin for Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

Darryl Campbell was the Modified feature winner.

July 9 (Saturday)

Sixteen IMCA Modifieds started the feature Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park. When the checkered flag dropped, only five Modifieds finished the feature. Destroyer Chassis Darryl Campbell, No. 83, managed to survive the race and pick up his first feature win of the season. Matt Martin, No. 11, was second, Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was third, Cody Shoemaker, No. 54, was fourth and Burt Wilten, No. 55m, was fifth. Daniels, Gober, McCoy, and Guillaume, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Kyle Jones, No. 04, returned to the winners circle. Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, had a good run for second, D.J. Estes, No. 74, was third, Tyler Russell, No. 8kk, was fourth and Chipper Wood, No. 47, was fifth. Ricketts, Debrick, Littlejohn, Williams, and Mallory, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jake UpChurch, in his Express Chassis, No. 24, picked up his first feature win of the season. Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was second, Tom Walp, No. 51w, was third, Devin Burgess, No. 64, was fourth and Kamera McDonald, No. 62k, was fifth. McCreery, J. Skinner, Gooding, Young, and Garcia, rounded out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature.

Tony Potter and Matt Doescher were involved in a wreck.

Stock Car Feature Winner: A good race between Westin Abbey, No. 12, and Ryan Powers, No. r12. Abbey picked up the win. Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Kirk Martin, No. 69, was fourth and Justin Fowler, No. 148, was fifh. Muirhead, McCulloch, Rabozzi, Nabors, and Ludwick, rounded out the top ten. Fourteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Mike Shackelford, No. 09, held off a hard charging Chase Neil, No. 416, for the win. Justin Grogg, No. 25, was third, Randy Buttery, No. 07, was fourth and A.J. Gardner, No. 21, was fifth. C. Cook, Vest, Magar, J. Cook, and Johnson, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-five cars started the feature.

Harley Cox didn't have a good night.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, held off Blake Clark, No. 88, for the exciting win. Jordan Hefler, No. 2j, was third, Casey, Merrell, was fourth and Ranger Shipman, No. 57r, was fifth. Seven cars started the feature.

Eric Tomlinson defeats Josh McGaha for the Modified win at Heart O Texas Speedway

Eric Tomlinson was the Modified feature winner.

Raymond McSpadden, No. 48r, drove a good race at Heart O Texas Speedway Friday night in the IMCA Modified feature. But with less than ten laps to go, Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, tore past McSpadden to take the lead and the feature victory. Abilene's Josh McGaha, No. 911, had a good run, but settled for second, Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, was third, Kevin Green, No. 5, was fourth and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, was fifth. McSpadden ended up sixth, Goode Jr., Wojtek, Grantham, and C. Estes, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

Harvey Cox Racing got a top five finish.

Late Model Feature Winner: The Southern Texas Late Model Series (STLMS) made their second appearance of the season at HOT. Kevin Sitton, No. 97, sped to the front and held off Sloppy Hog, No. ZZ, for the feature win. Brad Smith, No. 88s, was third, David Hennan, No. d11, was fourth and Kody Hardage, No. 12, the series promoter, was fifth. Brzozowski, G. Egbert, Wagner, Baxter, and C. Armstrong II, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature. 

Skip O'Neal, No. 17b, and his impressive Late Model.

SportMod Feature Winner: It was good to see James Guyton, No. 68, back in the winner's circle. He picked up his first win of the season. Garett Rawls, No. 4g, was second, Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was third, Ronnie Bell, No. 95, was fourth and James Hanusch, No. 777, was fifth. T. Green, Shepperd, T. Florio, B. Gould, and J. UpChurch, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars strarted the feature.

Tyler Muirhead, No. 22t, was second, Wade White, No. 68, was third, Justin McCullough, No. 47, was fourth, and Damon Hammond, No. 116, was fifth. Roller, Jones, O'Bryan, Merritt, and Spillman, rounded out the top ten. Eighteen cars started the feature.
