Jeff Day was the Johnny Suggs Classic SST Sprint winner at Heart O Texas Speedway

It was a Memorial Day special at Heart O Texas Speedway Sunday night. HOT was rained out Friday, but Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day for racing. Over 200 cars competed for cash, trophies and bragging rights. The Sprint Series of Texas was there in force. There were forty-three RaceSaver Sprints in the pits for the first inaugural Johnny Suggs Classic. A great crowd was on hand to see the Sprints battle it out for the twenty-two starting positions in the 25-lap A-main. Dustin Woods, No. 00, had a good run, but nine laps into the feature, Jeff Day, No. 95, passed Dustin for the lead and never looked back. Kyle Jones, No. 04, was second, Tyler Russell, No. 8k, was third, Michael Day, No. 2, was fourth and Dustin Woods, No. 00, ended up fifth. Howery, J. Melton, Vetter, Thomas and Ramey rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two cars started the feature.

Hobby Stock Feature Winner: Abilene's Gerald Spalding Jr., No. 15, picked up a kool $1,000 for his win in the Texas Hobby Stock Shootout. Jeremy Oliver, No. 82, was a close second, Shannon Dulock, No. 47, the current points leader, was third, Wesley Warren, No. 75, was fourth and Damian Snyder, No. 44, was fifth. Burnett, Bice, Wade, Wilkerson, and Robilette, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-five cars started the feature.

Kevin Green had a solid run for second place. 

Modified Feature Winner: Kevin Sustaire, No. 8, picked up his first Modified feature win this season. Kevin Green, No. 5, the current points leader, was second, Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was third, Dean Abbey, No. 26, was fourth and Jack Sartain, No. 47, rounded out the top five. Daniels, Radcliff, Martin, Ables, and Hoegh, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-fouir cars started the feature.

Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, got a top five finish.

SportMod Feature Winner: In one of the best races of the evening, Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, beat Jeff Shepperd, No. 17, at the wire by a bumper. Chris Florio, No. 21, was third, T.J. Green, No. 5, was fourth and G.W. Egbert, No. 717, was fifth. Tucker, Manka, Gould, Williams, and McCall, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Zachary Rile, No. 110, had a top five finish.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Benji Kirkpatrick, No. 4725, picked up another feature winner. Good to see Charles Cosper, No. 33c, back at the track. He was second, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was third, Zachary Riley, No. 110, was fourth and Eric Jones, No. 84x, was fifth. Powers, Abbey, Roller, Crenshaw, and Andrews, rounded out the top ten, Twenty-two cars started the feature.

Cameron Cook, No. 04c, had a top five finish. 

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Chase Neil, No. 416, had the fastest hot rod picking up his second win of the season. Billy Meazell III, No. 115, was second, Rick Morosky, No. 88, was third, Joe Finelli, No. 17x, was fourth and Cameron Cook, No. 04c, was fifth. Hopkins, Broussard, Phillips, Wade, and Richardon, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars stared the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: Blake Clark, No. 88, was the winner. Jordan Hefler, No. 2j, was second, Bradly Warren, No. 34w, was third, Richard Gregory, No. 72, was fourth and Raymond Morgan, No. 6, was fifth. Thirteen cars started the feature. 

 

A great crowd was on hand to view the races.

Justin McCoy wins second IMCA Modified feature at Kennedale Speedway Park

Justin McCoy was the Modified feature winner.

Matt Guillaume, No. 50, gave it every thing he had in the IMCA Modified feature, but with less than five laps to go, Justin McCoy, No. 87, and John Gober, No. 52, went around him on the high side to take the first and second spots. Mitch McMillin, No. 61, ended up third. Matt settled for fourth. Rounding out the top five was Matt Martin, No. 11. Bransom, M. Skinner, Miles, Earl III, and Campbell, rounded out the top ten. This was Justin McCoy's second feature win of the 2016 season. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Kyle Jones, No. 04, slid past George White, No. 10, to take the lead and the feature win. George White settled for second, Logan Scherb, No. 18, was third, Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was fourth and Tony Dowd, No. 11t, was fifth. Colby Estes, Claud Estes, Wood, Parson, and Klis Jr., rounded out the top ten. Seventeen cars started the feature.

Michelle Melton wins her first SSO Sprint feature at Southern Oklahoma Speedway

Michelle Melton was the SSO Sprint feature winner.

Michelle Melton, No. m1, from Flower Mound, Texas, won her first Sprint Series of Oklahoma IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature Friday night at Southern Oklahoma Speedway. Michelle started on the front row along side Jerry Hammond, No. 12, and lead every lap of the 20-lap A-main. This was Southern Oklahoma Speedways second "Fast 5 Friday" event of the season. Chad Wilson, No. 20, was closing fast on the leaders, but was involved in a bad crash going into turn 1 with five laps to go. Chad did not appear to be injured. Jerry Hammond, No. 12, ended up second, John Carney, No. 4j, was third, Jake Martens, No. 48, was fourth and Joe Wood Jr., No. 03, was fifth. Whitworth, Shouse, Thomas, Ricketts, Owens, Waddell, Dacas, Hoff, Kelly, Williams Vetter, Kelley, Slaton, Wilson, and Ramey, rounded out the field. Twenty cars started the feature. A strong field of twenty-six Sprints were in the pits.

Wingless Oklahoma Warriors Sprint Feature Winner: Shawn Bloomquist, No. 24, was the WOW winner. Shawn also won the Boyd's Racing Engines Dash for Cash. Shelby Byrd, No. 71, was second, Derek Cottrell, No. 9, was third, Dillion Burks, No. 02, was fourth and Mike Scott, No. 0, was fifth. Duane Baker, No. 29, Sheldon Leesekamp, No. 26, David Baxter, No. 7d, David McDuffee, No. 43, Cody Brewer, No. 96, Koby Barksdale, No. 22, Josh Buscher, No. 32, and Ryan Dean, No. 51, rounded out the field. Ten cars started the feature. This was WOW's sixth race of the 2016 season and their second appearance at Southern Oklahoma Speedway.

Sooner Late Model Series Feature Winner: A great race between Jay Sale, No. 56x, and David Hennan, No. d11. Jay ended up taking the exciting feature win. Mark Harrison, No. 81, was third, Dalton Ragsdale, No. 7, was fourth and Darin Busch, No. 56c, was fifth. Brill, Lowe, T. Sale, and Hog, rounded out the field. Eleven cars started the feature.

David Hennan drove a good race, but settled for second place.

A packed house was on hand to see Andy Roller, No. 63, get his first Stock Car feature win of the season at Kennedale Speedway Park. Andy also won the Stock Car feature at Heart O Texas Speedway Friday night. Andy, a former Hobby Stock champion, switched over to a Stock Car this season and is on a roll. Although tonights feature win didn't come easy. Andy had his hands full with twenty-six cars in the Stock Car A-main. Andy managed to hold off the field to take the 20-lap exciting win. Coming in a close second was Westin Abbey, No. 12, "Flyin" Ryan Powers, No. r12, was third, Kirk Martin, No. 69, was fourth and Justin McCullough, No. 47, was fifth. Hammond, Crenshaw, Bransom, Riley, and Otken, rounded out the top ten. M. Skinner, Christopher, Phillips, Obregon, Kahanek, Jones, Moss, Egbert, Ludwick, Miles, Goldstein, Harper, Smith, Rea, Nabors, and Benedict rounded out the field. A full field of twenty-six cars started the feature.

Little George White was the big winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night

Little George White, No. 10, had a big night at Kennedale Speedway Park. George not only won the IMCA Modified feature, but he also won the RaceSaver Sprint feature. George White held off Chad Melton, No. 71, in the IMCA Modified feature, to take the win. Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Matt Guillaume, No. 50, was fourth and Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was fifth. Carter, Campbell, McCoy, Miles, and Carter, rounded out the top ten. Wilten, Shoemaker, Martin, Williams Jr., Skinner, Bober, Hutton, and Benedict, rounded out the field. Seventeen cars started the feature.

RaceSaver Sprint Feature Winner: George White, No. 10, defeated Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, for his second feature win of the evening. Channin Tankersley gets first ASCS Sprint win of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway

Channin Tankersley was the ASCS Sprint feature winner.

Channin Tankersley, No. 14, picked up his first ASCS Gulf South Region, presented by Southern Trailer Works, win of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway's 12th Annual Gordon Woolley Classic. The 2014 ASCS Gulf South Champion received $2,000 for his effort. Having a strong run for second was Travis Rilat, No. 29, Ray Allen Kulhanek, No. 21t, was third, Tommy Bryant, No. 28, was fourth and Aaron Reutzel, No. 88, was fifth. Ramey, McNeil, Lane, Gates, and Simmons, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the twenty-five lap feature. The next American Sprint Car Series race is at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, TX, on Saturday, May 7.

Cade Dillard drives away with the USMTS Modified feature win at Superbowl Speedway

Cade Dillard was the USMTS Modified feature winner.

The United States Modified Touring Series Production Jars Southern Region, presented by Day Motorsports, held their first of three nights of racing at the Superbowl Speedway Thursday night. The North Texas Nationals continues Friday night with their 2nd Annual Event at the Lubbock Speedway in Lubbock, TX . It concludes Saturday night with the 7th Annual Amarillo Ambush at the Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, TX. For more information, go to: www.usmts.com 

The S&S Fishing & Rental USMTS Feature Winner: Cade Dillard, No. 97, from Robeline, La., won his second feature win in-a-row and his fourth USMTS feature of his career. Dillard held off Jesse Sobbing, No. 99, in the forty-two lap $3,000 to win A-man. Scott Drake, No. 4, placed third, Rodney Sanders, No. 20, spun out early in the race, but still finished fourth and Dereck Ramirez, No. 4r, was fifth. Current points leader Hughes, Thomas, Malchus, Wolff, and Bauman, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Clyde "Lil Freaky" Dunn Jr. No. 88xxx and his impressive Modified.

A good field of thirty-one Modifieds were in the pits.

Limited Modified Feature Winner: Brandon Ball, No. b17, won by a nose. Gabe Tucker, No. 95, came close, but settled for second. Check out the photo finish in the video below. Kevin Roland, No. 4r, was third, Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was fourth and Chad Cox, No. 21, was fifth. Goswick, Melton, Phillips, Raney, and Clement, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Justin Whitehead, No. 36, got past Chris Davis, No. 98, on the last lap to take the win. Jason Gore, No. 21, was third, Josh Landers, No. 14x, was fourth and Brian McHenry, No. 05, was fifth. Brierton, Sonntag, Nation, Holt and Blanton, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Chris Davis lead most of the race but ended up second.

Justin McCoy muscled his way to the IMCA Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

With severe weather in north Texas recently, several race tracks in this area were rained out. Hats off to Bo Rawdon and crew for getting Kennedale Speedway Park up and running. KSP picked up several cars from the tracks that were closed making for another large field of race cars. It turned out to be a beautiful evening for the race fans. They got to see some exciting races with several close finishes.  

IMCA Modified Feature Winner: Justin McCoy, No. 87, muscled his way to a feature win on a rough track. John Gober, No. 52, was close, but came in second. "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was third, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fifth. Skinner, Shoemaker, Benedict, Hood, and Miles rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature. 

Jason Batt was involved in a bad crash during the B-main.

RaceSaver Sprint Feature Winner: Chad Wilson Motorsports, No. 20, was the feature winner. Justin Melton, No. 11, had a good run, but settled for second. Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was third, Chad Koch, No. 35k, was fourth and Lucas Scherb, No. 18x, was fifth. Lawrence, M. Melton, Hawkins, C. Estes, and Klis Jr., rounded out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature.

IMCA SportMod Feature Winner: Robert Scrivner, No. 53, picked up another win. Dean Abbey, No. 17, was second, Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was third, Jake UpChurch, No. 24,. was fourth and James McCreery, No. 13j, was fifth. J. Skinner, Herring, McDonald, Doescher, and Long, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

IMCA Stock Car Feature Winner: Brandon Taylor, No. 5*, held off "Flyin" Ryan Powers, No. r12, for the exciting Stock Car feature win. Les Hogan, No. 12, was third, Greg Muirhead, No. 221, was fourth and Kirk Martin. No. 69, was fifth. Bransom, Jones, Roller, Dancer and Bissonette, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Casey Lyles, No. 27, was the feature winner in a wild one. Duane Wolff, No. 10, ended up second, Mike Shackleford, No. 09, was third, A.J. Gardner, No. 21, was fourth and Tim Murray, No. 20, was fifth. Johnson, Riddle, Skinner, Cherry, and Tindol, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Jr. Mini Stock Feature Winner: Ranger Shipman, No. 57r, was the winner. Danner Shipman, No. 75d, was second, Blake Clark, No. 88, was third, Casey Merrell, No. 41, was fourth, Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, was fifth and Joel Goff, rounded out the field. Six cars started the feature.
