Michelle Melton sprints to RaceSaver Sprint feature victory at Kennedale Speedway Park

There was a full moon over Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. That made for a wild and crazy night of racing. In the RaceSaver Sprint feature, Michelle Melton, No. 21, showed the boys the fast way around the 1/4-mile, semi-banked, dirt track. Michelle took to the front and held off a strong field of racers to take the exciting A-main. Weston Gorham, No. 71w, was second, Zane Lawrence, No. 76, was third, Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was fourth and Chad Wilson, No. 20, was fifth. N. Littlejohn, C. Estes, Williams, Floyd, and S. Scherb, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature. Several cars were involved in a bad wreck during the feature. To view a video of the Sprint wreck, click below:

Modified Feature Winner: Cody Shoemaker, No. 54, was the feature winner. Tommy Williams Jr., No. 151, was second, John Gober, No. 52, was third, Justin McCoy, No. 87, was fourth and Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fifth. Hood, Sartain, Guillaume, Campbell, and McSpadden, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-three cars started the feature.

SportMod Feature Winner: Robert Scrivner, No. 53, picked up another feature win. Dean Abbey, No. 17, was second, Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, was third, Jacob Pickle, No. 141, was fourth and Jeremy Carter, No. 25c, was fifth. McCreery, Fritchen, Young, Freeman, and Grindstaff, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Tyler Muirhead, No. 22t, was the feature winner. Factory Stock Feature Winner: A tough race between Duane Wolff, No. 10, and Jeff Kinnaird, No. 07. Duane prevailed. Jeff settled for second. Michael Shackleford, No. 09, was third, Tom Earl Jr., No. 47, was fourth and Tim Murray, No. 20, was fifth. Smith, Smitherman, Kahanek III, C. Neil, last week's winner, had a good run, but spun out with a few laps to go, and C. Cook, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

An electrical problem delayed the races for a short time.

Matt Guillaume gets the IMCA Modified feature win at Boyd Raceway Friday night

What better way to celebrate Earth Day, than to go dirt track racing! Due to the recent rains the last few days, several area race tracks were closed. Boyd Raceway was able to get there races in. A nice crowd was on hand too watch seven classes of race cars compete for cash and points.

In the IMCA Modified feature, Matt Guillaume, No. 50, had placed 2nd in his last two Modified features at Boyd Raceway. Friday night Matt finally got that win. John Gober, No. 52, was second, Cody Shoemaker, No. 54, was third, Tom Earl III, No. 47, had a good run, but finished fourth and "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fifth. Wojtek, Batt, Walp, Fain, and Martin, rounded out the field. Eleven cars started the feature.

John Gober had a good run for second place.

SportMod Feature Winner: Jeffrey Abbey, No. 37, broke the rearend in his car during the heat race. He managed to replace it and start on the back of the field in the SportMod feature. Jeffrey picked up his sixth feature win in-a-row. Robert Scrivner, No. 53, came in a close second, Kamera McDonald, No. 62k, was third, Trevor Foley, No. 45f, was fourth and Ronnie Welborn, No. 20, was fifth. D. Abbey, J. Skinner, B. Gould, Coone, and Reynolds, rounded out the top ten. Sixteen cars started the feature.

Stock Car Feature Winner: Kirk Martin, No. 69, picked up his sixth feature win in this car. Mike Childs, No. 01, was second, Westin Abbey, No. 12, was third, Steven Orebaugh, No. 99xxx, was fourth and Andy Roller, No. 63, was fifth. Powers, Brown, Lamb, Phillips, Blackwood, and Benedict, rounded out the field. Eleven cars started the feature.

600 A-class Feature Winner: Kyle Jones, No. 04, had a great run, but broke on the back straight-a-way. That opened the door for two-time feature winner Jim Woods, from Oklahoma. Jim picked up his third feature win of the season. Scott Evans, No. 118, was second, Jerry Evans, No. 21e, was third, Weston Gorham, No. 71w, was fourth and Lucas Scherb, No. 22, was fifth. Wood, C. Estes, Thomas, Jones, and Brewer, rounded out the top ten. Thirteen cars started the feature.

Sport Compact Feature Winner: Danny Baggerly, No. 7, bagged another fearture win. That makes three for the year so far. Brandon Segura, No. 27, was second, Julia Childs, No. 02, was third, James Lochabay, No. 3, was fourth, and Daniel Cunningham, No. 37, was fifth. Parker, Burrows, Rutledge, J. Baggerly, and Toler, rounded out the top ten.

Danny Baggerly got his third feature win of the season.

Despite a forecast of bad weather, a nice crowd was on hand to watch a full racing program plus the always exciting Demolition Derby at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Six classes of cars competed for cash and points. In the RaceSaver Sprint feature, veteran George White, No. 10, raced his way around Weston Gorham, No. 71w, to take the exciting Sprint feature. Bryan Debrick, No. 10x, had a good run to finish third, Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was fourth and "Wild Thing" Payton Williams, No. 22x, was fifth. M. Melton, L. Scherb, Wood, C. Estes, and Klis Jr., rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

Ryan Hall was involved in a bad crash during the Sprint feature.

Modified Feature Winner: Matt Martin, No. 11, had a good run, but settled for second. Chad Melton, No. 71, took home the trophy. Justin Melton was the Sprint Series of Texas feature winner at Heart O Texas Speedway

Justin Melton was the SST Sprint feature winner.

The Sprint Series of Texas made its first of two stops at Heart O Texas Speedway Friday night. A nice crowd was on hand to see twenty-seven SST Sprints compete for the 20 starting positions in the 25-lap A-main. Day Motorsports, Jeff Day, No. 95, and Michael Day, No. 2, started on the front row in the A-feature. They pretty much dominated the race with Michael looking like he was going to win his second SST feature in-a-row. But with five laps to go in the 20-lap feature, officials shortened the race, Justin Melton, No. 11, managed to catch and pass Michael for the win. Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was fourth and Colby Estes, No. 71, was fifth. Johnny Miller, No. 64j, Michelle Melton, No. 21, Dustin Woods, No. 00, Chase Parson, No. 57, and Josh Hanna, No. 82, were your top ten. Russell, Elwood, Byron, Ricketts, Henderson, Holt, Brewer, Sessums, T. Reed, and Gloeckler, rounded out the field. Twenty-cars started the feature. There were a total of twenty-seven Sprints in the pits.

Modified Feature Winner: Kevin Green, No. 5, picked up his second feature win of the season. Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, last weeks feature winner, settled for second, David Goode, No. 13g, was third, Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fourth and Jeff Hoegh, No. 97jk, was fifth. McSpadden, Walker, Frydrych, Smith and Hall Sr., rounded out the top ten. Twenty cars started the feature.

Whalley, Bice, Sheets, Christian, and Wade rounded out the field. Ten cars started the feature.

Morosky, Guenat, Dean, Shipman, and Kemp Jr., rounded out the top ten. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

Justin Radcliff picked up his first Modified win of the season at Heart O Texas Speedway

Jason Batt, No. 19, looked like he was going to get his first IMCA Modified feature win of the season Friday night at Heart O Texas Speedway. But with a few laps to go, Justin Radcliff, No. 11j, managed to work his way past Jason, to take the exciting IMCA Modified A-main. Jason Batt settled for second. Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, ended up third, Brian Walker, No. 9w, was fourth and Brandon Hood, No. 1b, was fifth. Goode, P. White, Cochran II, Grantham, and McSpadden, rounded out the top ten. SportMod Feature Winner: G.W. Egbert, No. 717, had a good run, but broke with a few laps to go. Robert Scrivner, No. 53, picked up the win. Aaron Benedict beats William Gould for the Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

It was another great night of racing at Kennedale Speedway Park. Almost two hundred race cars competed for cash, points and bragging rights. There was some serious racing going on from 7 p.m. to midnight. In the IMCA Modified feature, Aaron Benedict, No. 77a, held off a hard charging William Gould, No. 60, for the feature win. Austin Carter, No. 44, was third, Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was fourth and Kevin Green, No. 5, was fifth. Campbell, D. Carter, McMillin, McKinney, and Guillaume, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-five cars started the feature.

Sprint Feature Winner: Claud Estes, No. 74e, was declared the feature winner. Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, appeared to win the race, but was later DQ'd. Chad Wilson, No. 20, came in second, Payton Williams, No. 22x, was third, Bryan Debrick, No. 10x, was fourth and Scott Scherb, No. 68, was fifth. Mark Klis Jr., Wood, Logan Scherb, Lucito, and Lucas Scherb, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Millirons, No. 29, was fifth. Roan, Miller, Tindol, Robinson, and Birmingham, rounded out the top ten. Twenty-four cars started the feature.

Dwarf Car Feature Winner: Little Joe Shedden, No. 138, made it three wins in-a-row, David Garland, No. 02, was second, Scott Prejean, No. 71, was third, No. 15, was fourth, and No. 5, was fifth. Twenty-six cars started the feature.

There was a full field of Dwarf Cars in the pits.

Dalton Stevens defeated Justin Melton for the Sprint feature win at RPM Speedway

Dalton Stevens was the RaceSaver Sprint feature winner.

April 1 (Friday)

Dalton Stevens, No. 99x, picked up his first RaceSaver Sprint feature win at RPM Speedway Friday night. A good field of thirty-one Sprints battled it out for the 20 starting positions in the 20-lap feature. Justin Melton, No. 11, gave it everything he had, but settled for second. Robert Vetter, No. v8, was third, Logan Payne, in the good looking No. 2, was fourth and Justin Fifield, No. 49, had a good run for fifth. M. Melton, K. Ramey, Russell, Woods, and Parson, rounded out the top ten. Twenty cars started the feature.

Tucker Doughty was involved in a wreck during the feature. 

Over thirty Sprints were in the pits.

Johnny Philpot Jr. had a solid run for second place.

USRA Modified Feature Winner: Bobby Ruffin, No. 121, and Johnny Philpot Jr., No. 12j, had a good battle going in the feature. Ruffin finally prevailed for the feature win. Chase Allen, No. 49, came from the rear of the field, to take third, Jim Knight, No. 73, was fourth and Jason Sartain, No. 74, was fifth. O'Neil, Jackson, Smith, and Harrison, rounded out the field. Nine cars started the feature.

 Jim Knight, No. 73, had a top five finish in the Modified feature.

Jon White Jr. and his beautiful Limited Modified. 

Limited Modified Feature Winner: Davis's double down in Limited Modified feature. Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, battled Chris Davis, No. 8, for the win. Ronnie Sigman, No. 25c, was third, Jon White Jr., No. 8j, was fourth and Thomas Blackwell, No. 445, was fifth. Newbill, Zimmerman, Abbey, D. Ramey, and Rogers, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.

Factory Stock Feature Winner: Walter Hamilton, No. 1w, may not loose this season. April fool! He has won all of the features at RPM Speedway so far this season. Giving it a good run for the money was Randy Buttery, No. 06, for second. Chris Davis, No. 98, was third, Ricky Sessions, No. 7, was fourth and Jeff Sonntag, No. 73, was fifth. Smith, Arden, Simpkins, Morphis, and McFarlin, rounded out the top ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.

Randy Buttery had a strong run for second place.
