It was the 2nd Annual Non-Wing Sprint Extravaganza at Boyd Raceway Saturday night. Despite the cooler temperatures, a nice crowd was on hand to watch four classes of cars compete. The POWRi West Midgets, one of the feature classes, held their final points race of the season. A good field of thirty-two midgets were in the pits.
POWRi Midget Feature Winner: Steven Shebester, No. 35, was the run-a-way feature winner. Kevin Ramey, No. 7m, was second. Dustin Morgan, No. 93, had a good run, but settled for third, Anton Hernandez, No. 52, was fourth and Kyle Jones, No. 04, was fifth. Grady Chandler, Ty Hulsey, Zane Lawrence, Daniel Robinson and Wesley Smith rounded out the top ten. Twenty-cars started the feature. Anton Hernandez was crowned the 2015 Rookie of the Year and Points Champion for the POWRi West Midget Series.

Elite Non-Wing Sprint Feature Winner: Tony Dowd, No. 11t, drove a great race. Sadly on the last lap, coming out of turn 4, Tony lost his steering allowing Raven Culp, No. 3, to take the exciting feature win. Chad Wilson, No. 20, was second, Tony Dowd settled for third, Michelle Melton, No. 21, was fourth, and Logan Scherb, No. 18, was fifth. Tyler Russell, Justin Melton, Kyle Jones, Richard Miller, and Johnny Miller rounded out the top ten. Twenty-two Sprints started the feature.
Dustin Gates is the 2015 Elite Non-Wing Sprint Car Champion.
It was great to see Patrick Stasa back at the track after his accident.

TOWR Mini Sprint Winner: Frank Flud, No. 9, flew past the competition for the feature win. Steven Shebester, No. 82, was second, Kyle Keeler, No. 27k, was third, Anton Hernandez, No. 15, was fourth and Johnny Boland, No. 1, was fifth. Twenty-four cars started the feature.
Kyle Keeler had a strong run to finish third.
Hunter Gengo and Chipper Wood were involved in a bad wreck.

Restrictor Mini Sprint Winner: Gunner Ramey, No. 28, was the feature winner. Blane Perkins, No. 00b, was second, Sammy Davis, No. 1, was third, and Dylan Ramey, No. 7d, was fourth.
Recent rains made for slick conditions in the pits.
There were one hundred and seventeen race cars in the pits.
A nice crowd was on hand to view the races.

Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore) November 3 (Tuesday)
The United States Modified Touring Series made a brief stop Tuesday night at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway on there way to Ark-La-Tex Speedway for the 9th Annual Winter Nationals. A good field of thirty-six Modifieds were in the house to compete for the twenty-four starting positions in the Casey's General Stores 30-lap $3,000 to win A-main. The USMTS 2015 National Champion Jason Hughes, No. 12, started on the front row along side Dereck Ramirez, No. 4r. It took four laps, but Jason powered his way past Ramirez to take the lead. With less than five laps to go, Jason got into some lap traffic and was past by Rodney Sanders, No. 20. Jason managed to get back around Sanders and hold him off for the exciting win by 0.054 of a second. Sanders settled for second, Mickey Lassiter, No. 34, was third, Tyler Wolff, No. 4w, was fourth, Chadd Howell, No. 49, was fifth. Kyle Beard, No. 86, Derek Ramirez, No. 4r, Randy Timms, No. 5t, Joe Duvall, No. 91, and Lance Town, No. 21t, rounded out the top ten.
Rodney Sanders came close but settled for second.
Kyle Beard got the hard charger award coming from fourteenth to sixth.
The USMTS Modifieds next event is at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Limited Modified Feature Winner: Walter Hamilton, No. 22, lead every lap of the Limited Modified feature. Larry Johnson, No. 83, was close, but ended up second, Wesley Veal, No. 12x, was third, Travis Johnson, No. 86, was fourth, Justin Nabors, No. 28j, was fifth, No. 10g, Goodson, was sixth, William Gould, No. 60, was seventh, and No. 97s, was eight. Twenty-cars started the feature.
