Nicholas Littlejohn lucks out with Modified feature win at Kennedale Speedway Park

September 27 (Saturday)

Tom Earl Jr., No. 47, seemed to have the IMCA Modified to beat at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. But with one lap to go in the Modified feature, Tom spun out, taking Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, with him. This opened the door for Nicholas Litttlejohn, No. 76, to storm past them and take the feature win. CAM Chassis Chase Allen, No. 930e, ended up second, Tom Earl Jr., No. 47, settled for third, Matt Martin, No. 11, was fourth and Tommy Williams, No. 151, was fifth. Twenty-one Mods started the feature.

RaceSaver Sprint Winner: Logan Payne, No. 2, had a great run, but with a few laps to go, veteran George White, No. 10, worked his way past Payne, and George was off to the races. Logan Payne, settled for second, 2014 Sprint Champion Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was third, D.J. Estes, No. 74, was fourth and Jeff Day, No. 95, was fifth. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature.

IMCA SportMod Winner: James Skinner, No. 17s, was fast, but he got a little loose allowing James McCreery, No. 13j, to slip past him and on to the feature win. Luke Fritchen, No. 99, was third, Charlie Knight, No. 2k, was fourth and Jason Illich, No. 60, was fifth. Twenty-one cars started the feature.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: Jay Bransom, No. 33c, defeated Duain Pritchen, No. 22d, for the win. Roger Hauser, No. 81, was third, Jeremy Carter, No. 25c, was fourth and Wade White, No. 68, was fifth. September 26 (Friday)

Jason Howell, No. 44, said that he was going to take some time away from racing. He might want to reconsider after his success Friday night with the Sprint Series of Texas at Mountain Creek Speedway. Jason "Batman" Howell won the Dash for Cash and in the A feature, he flew to the front and held off Jerry Hammock, No. 4, for the win. Kenny Elwood, No. 21, was third, Dustin Woods, No. 00, was fourth and Drew Wright, No. 94, who had a strong run, finished fifth. Twenty Sprints started the feature.

It was great to see veteran Johnny Suggs and his No. 77.

The race fans enjoyed visting with the top three SST finishers.

IMCA Modified Winner: This is two feature wins in-a-row for the Kennedale Speedway Park promoter, Destroyer Chassis, Darryl Campbell, No. 83. Coming in a close second, was Jeff Emerson, No. 35, Dillion Pike, No. 6, had a strong run for third, Abilene's Josh McGaha, No. 911, was fourth and Dennis Bissonnette, No. 07d, was fifth. Ten Modifieds started the feature.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Wayne Melton, No. 18m, was the feature winner. Justin Long, No. 42, was second, Greg Frazer, No. 2f, had a strong run for third and Tory Yant, No. 00, was fourth and Ronnie Welborne, No. 20, was fifth. Twenty cars started the feature. Jake UpChurch, No. 24, looked like he might get another win, but something broke on the front end, causing him to have a major wreck. Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, also had a strong run, but had sheet metal damage and was sent to the pit.

It was the first of three nights of racing at the $72,000 Armadillo Nationals at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, TX. Thursday night was heats and qualifying races for the Modifieds, Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks. The top four cars in each class locked themselves in for Saturday’s finales. Racing continues Friday with more heats and qualifiers. Saturday is for the big bucks and the Champions to be crowned.

Day Motorsports Modified A qualifier Winners: Rodney Wing, No. 51, Kyle Pleasant, No. 6x, Jamie Burford, No. 19, was Dennie Gieber, No. 33, are locked in for Saturday's finale. John Whittington, No. 5w, Ralo Pilkington, No. 22, Chris Brown, No. 21, Bobby Malcus, No. 4m, Steve Whiteaker, No. 89c, and Wes Armstrong, No. 5x, round out the top ten.

Kyle Pleasant, in the No. 6x Modified, had a good run to finish second.

Chris Brown, No. 21, picked up a seventh place finish.

Johnny Scott was behind the wheel of the Penn, No. 5*, Modified.

William Gould, No. 60, battling for the IMCA Modified points Championship, pulled off another feature win at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. There was a strong field of Modifieds in the 20-lap A-main. Jack Sartain, No. 47, had a strong run and lead most of the race. William managed to power his way past him with a few laps to go and take the feature win. Abilene's Josh McGaha, No. 911, worked his way up to second, Jack Sartain, No. 47, settled for third, Tom Earl Jr., No. 47x, was fourth and Jeremy Willis, No. 010, was fifth. Jeff Emerson, No. 35, G.W. Egbert, No. 717, Matt Martin, No. 11, Justin Fowler, No. 48, and Mike McCarthy, No. 20x, round out the top ten. A full field of twenty-four Modifieds started the feature.

RaceSaver Sprint Winner: George White, No. 10, held off a hard charging Chad Wilson, No. 20, was the win. Ryan Hall, No. 79v, was third, Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was fourth and Chip Graham, No. 5h, was fifth. A full field of twenty-four cars started the feature.

John Ricketts, No. 5r, was involved in a nasty spill in turn 1.

Jason Gauntt gets his first win in wild Street Stock feature at Heart O' Texas Speedway

Benji Kirkpatrick, No. 47, was having a great season until Friday night at Heart O' Texas Speedway. Going for the Street Stock feature win, Benji, Matt Hood, No. 3a, and Jason Gauntt, No. 73, were three wide going down the front straight-a-way, when Benji and Matt got together causing a major wreck. Benji Kirkpatrick was not injuried, but his car was a total wreck. Jason Gauntt ended up first, Matt Hood, was second, James Cochran II, No. 1j, was third, Paul Kohl, No. 96, was fourth and Gerald Johnson, No. 109, was fifth. Wade White, No. 68, Keith White, No. 194, Brandon Hood, No. 1b, Thomas Hall Sr., No. 20t, John Frydrych, No. 03, round out the rop ten. Fifteen cars started the feature.

IMCA Modified Winner: In another exciting Modified feature, Eric Tomlinson, No. 45t, picked up his second feature win of the season. Keith White, No. 1, was second, Ben Ketteman, No. 37, was third, Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fourth, and Joe Spillman, No. 44, was fifth. G.W, Egbert, No. 717, Cody Daniel, No. 76s, Hardy Henderson, No. 63, Joe Morales, No. 07jd, and Ray McSpadden, No. 63, round out the top ten. Four laps into the race, Keith Green, No. 5, dropped out. William Gould, No. 60, had a good run, he was up to third, but broke with three laps to go. Nineteen cars started the feature.

Keith White "Captain America" was in the house.

Cody "Supaman" Daniel's impressive Modified finished seventh.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Eddie Grmela, No. 11g, was the feature winner. Sarah Goode, No. 13g, was second, Gene Burnett, No. 43g, was third, James Holder, No. 99, was fourth and Chris Cogburn, No. 601, was fifth. A full field of eighteen cars started the feature.
