Matt Martin holds off William Gould to take Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park

Matt Martin was the IMCA Modified feature winner.

April 26 (Saturday)

Matt Martin, No. 11, managed to hold off William Gould, No. 60, to pick up his first IMCA Modified victory of the season. Glen Hibbard, No. 127, last night's Modified winner at Mountain Creek Speedway, had a strong run, but had to settle for third. Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and Dillon Pike, No. 6, was fifth. Chad Melton, No. 71, Charlic Smith, No. 3c, Aaron Benedict, No. 77a, Ralph King, No. 5, and Bryan Felkins, No. 01, round out the top ten. A full field of twenty-one Modifieds started the A-main.

Jones Jubilant In Win: It looked like Chad Wilson, No. 20, had this one wrapped up, but with one lap to go, he made contact with the wall allowing Kyle Jones, No. 04, to get by him for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint win. Chase Brewer, No. 99, was second, Chad Wilson, No. 20, ended up third, Ryan Hall, No. 79, was fourth and Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, slipped by for fifth. Steven Shebester, No. 82, Chad Estes, No. 74e, Justin Melton, No. 11, Tyler Russell, No. 8x, and C.J, Duarte, No. 83, round out the top ten.

Jeff Emerson turned his Sprint over during the heat race.

Kevin Ramey mentioned that his team had just put his Sprint together this week. They must have done a good job, because Kevin Ramey, No. 30, took the IMCA RaceSaver feature win at Mountain Creek Speedway Friday night going away. Giving it all he had was Chad Wilson, No. 20, but he had to settled for second place. Kyle Jones, No. 04, had a good run, but finished third. John Rickett, No. 5r, was fourth, Chase Brewer, No. 99, was fifth, Dustin Woods, No. 00, was sixth and Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was seventh. A good field of eighteen Sprints started the A-main.

Hibbard Hauls In Another Win: Glen Hibbard, No. 127, was the run-a-way winner in the IMCA modified feature. Sean Hill and Chad Petty were involved in a bad wreck. No injuries. 

Lackey Leaves The Field Behind: Frank Lackey, No. 41, made it look easy in the Factory Stock feature. Randy Buttery, No. 5, was second, Tommy McKinley, No. 71m, was third, David Newton, No. 54, was fourth and Dillion Moss, No. 33, was fifth.

Shelbie Williams, No. 82, was second, David Smith, No. 97, was third, Gary Williams, No. 69, was fourth, Eddie Doggett, No. 44, was fifth, Glen Farmer, No. 72, was sixth, Mark Madison, No. 14, was seventh, Keli Welborn, No. 61, was eight and Rob McCutchen, No. 77, was ninth. Nine STEMS cars started the feature.

Last week Tommy Williams, No. 151, came close to pulling off that elusive Modified win at Kennedale Speedway Park. But mechanical problems prevented him from doing so. Saturday night there was no stopping him. Once he took the lead in the IMCA Modified feature, the victory was his. Glen Hibbard, No. 127, won the hard charger award with a strong second place finish. Kenneth Fielding, No. 19, also had a strong run to finish third, Demetrius Carter, No. 44, was fourth and Matt Martin, No. 11, was fifth. Dean Abbey, No. 26, was sixth, William Gould, No. 60, was seventh, Marvin Skinner, No. 27s, was eighth, Jay Bransom No. 29, was ninth and Mitch McMillin, No, 61, was tenth. Fifteen IMCA Modifieds started the feature.

Woods Wins Sprint Feature: Dustin Woods, No. 00, took the low line and it worked well for him in taking the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature. Kyle Jones, No. 04, was second, Shawn Mize, No. 12, was third, Chase Brewer, No. 99, was fourth and Marcus Thomas, No. 15t, was fifth.

Haney Holds Off Lovejoy For Win: Rickey Haney, No. 99h, managed to hold off Kyle Lovejoy, No. 41, for the IMCA SportMod win. Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was third, Allen Montgomery, No. 38, was fourth and Luke Fritchen, No. 99f, was fifth. Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, Logan Scherb, No. 18, Colby Estes, No. 71, D.J. Estes, No. 71, and Matt Etzelmiller, No. 82x, round out the top ten.

I wouldn't recommend this. No. 53 making some repairs.

Blake Hahn holds off Brandon Berryman to take ASCS Sprint win at Heart O Texas Speedway

The Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region returned to Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. Eighteen Sprints competed for the $2,000 first prize in the 25-lap A-main. The next stop for the ASCS Sprints tour is Saturday night at the Gator Bowl in Willis, Texas.

ASCS Sprint Winner: Local Justin Melton, No. 11, jumped out to an early lead in the A-main. About half way through the race Brandon Berryman, No. 31, worked his way pass Melton to take the lead with a hard charging Blake Hahn, No. 17, in hot pursuit. With less than five laps to go, Berryman and Hahn swapped the lead several times before Blake Hahn managed to take the lead for the final time and the win. Coming in third was Aaron Reuzel, No. 87, Justin Melton, No. 11, settled for fourth and Kevin Ramey, No. 1x, was fifth. Rounding out the top ten were: Channin Tankersley, No. 11, Chris Sweeney, No. 99, Ray Allen Kulhanek, No. 21t, Zane Lawrence, No. 76, and John Pate, No. 36.

Green Takes The Money: Veteran Keith Green, No. 5, held off an up and coming Dean Abbey, No. 26, for the IMCA Modified win. Chad Estes, No. 83, settled for third, Dwayne Grantham, No. 27g, was fourth and Scooter Bates, No. 12, had a good run to finish fifth. Keith White, No. 1, P.J. Egbert, No. 707, Wes Dulock, No. 88, Justin Radcliff, No. 11j and Hardy Henderson, No. 63, were your top ten.

It was pay back time at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Last night at Boyd Raceway William Gould, No. 60, defeated Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51p, in a close race to take the IMCA Modified win. Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park Nicholas Littlejohn held off William Gould to take the IMCA Modified win. Jeff Emerson, No. 35, was third, Matt Martin, No. 11, was fourth , David Cook, No. 32d, was fifth, Mitch McMillin, No. 61, was sixth, Jerry Robinson, No. 30, was seventh, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was eight, Aaron Benedict, No. 77a, was ninth and  Bryan Felkins, No. 01, was tenth. Glen Hibbard, No. 127, had a strong run, but broke going into turn 1. Dillon Pike, No. 6, caught the rear of Hibbard's car and rolled over. Twenty-two IMCA Modifieds started the feature. 

Dillon Pike No. 6 was involved in a wreck during the feature.

White Wins Sprint Feature: Veteran George White, No. 10, was the feature winner. Jeff Emerson, No. 35, passed a hard charging Justin Melton, No. 11, for second, on the last lap. Payton Pierce, No. 18p, ended up fourth, Colby Estes, No. 71, was fifth, Logan Scherb, No. 18, was sixth, C.J. Duarte, No. 83, was seventh, Chipper Wood, No. 47, was eight, Ryan Hall, No. 79v, was ninth and Tyler Russell, No. 8x, was tenth.
