There was a large crowd and a pit full of race cars at the Boyd Raceway's Annual IMCA Grand Nationals Saturday night. Rain had been reported in some areas, but it turned out to be a great night for racing. Six classes of cars compeded for cash and prices. A special thanks to All Metal Recycling for adding an additional $500 to the IMCA SportMod feature for a total of $2,000 to win.
RaceSaver Sprint Winner: Justin Melton, No. 11, was the RaceSaver Wingless Sprints feature winner. Coming in second was a hard charging Kevin Ramey, No 3x, Chad Wilson, No. 20, was third, Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was fourth and Claud Estes, No. 74e, was fifth. The RaceSaver Sprints ran without their wing and it made for some very exciting racing.
Kent Lewis Jr. was involved in a bad wreck during a heat race.
Michelle Melton and Richard Miller was also involved in a Sprint wreck.

IMCA Modified Winner: Chad Melton, No. 71, defeated Glen Hibbard, No. 127. Abilene's Tommy Fain, No. 90, was third, "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and Charles Brewer, No. 72, was fifth.
IMCA SportMod Winner: $2,000 was on the line for the winner. Dean Abbey, No. 26, held off Chris Cogburn, No. 601, for the feature win. "Extreme Graphics" Brad Shirley, No. 00, was third, Chase Parson, No. 57, was fourth and Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was fifth.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: N/A
IMCA Hobby Stock Winner: Jeremy Oliver, No. 82, was the feature winner. Kenny Ware, No. 83k, was second, No. 49, was third, No. 00, was fourth and No. 256, was fifth.

IMCA Sport Compac Winner: Danny Bagerly, No. 9, was the winner. Russell Sims, No. 87, was second, Steve Beaver, No. 86, was third, Tim Butler, No. 29, was fourth and Michael Burnside, No. 12, was fifth.
Michael Burnside had a good run and his car was voted Best Appearing Compac car.
The fans got to vote on the Best Appearing Car in each class.
