Brian Brown was the ASCS Sprint winner at the Devils Bowl 40th Annual Winter Nationals

Brian Brown was the ASCS Sprints feature winner.

Brian Brown, No. 21, was the $4,000 Lucas Oil presented by MAVTV American Real ASCS Sprints feature winner at the Devil's Bowl Speedway's 40th Annual Winter Nationals James McElreath Memorial event. A large crowd was on hand and 101 Sprints competed for cash and prices. There were 38 USA Limited Modifieds in the pits also for a total of 139 race cars.

Lucas Oil American ASCS Sprint Winner: Missouri's Brian Brown, Casey's General Store No. 21, defeated Tony Bruce Jr., No. 18, for the feature win. It was a nice birthday gift. Today was Brian's birthday. His second feature win at the Bowl. Coming in third was Aaron Reutzel, No. 87, Seth Bergman, No. 23, was fourth and Jack Dover, No. 53, was fifth. Wayne Johnson, Oil Medics No. 77x, had a strong run, but hit a car on the back straight with sixteen laps to go and was done for the evening. Jason Johnson, No. 41, ended up in eight place. Local Kevin Ramey, No. 7m, dropped out due to mechanical problems. There were 50 ASCS Sprints in the pits.

The DGS Motorsports RaceSaver Sprint Winner: John Carney, No. 74b, was the feature winner. Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was second, Martin Edwards, No. 45, was third, Tony Bruce Jr., No. 71, was fourth and Chad Wilson, No. 20, was fifth. 51 RaceSaver Sprints were in the pits.

Blaines Motor Supply USA Limited Modified Winner: Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was the feature winner. Troy Taylor, No. 57, was second, Tom Lorenz, No. 84, was third, Michael Daniels, No. 711, was fourth and Randy Kirkland, No. 42, was fifth. There were 38 USA Limited Modifieds in the pits.

Bubba Spencer, No. 7b, ended on it's top during the B-main.

One hundred and thirty-nine race teams were in attendance.

The Sprint drivers were introduced to the fans.

Large crowd and car count at Boyd Raceway's Annual IMCA Grand Nationals

Justin Melton was the RaceSaver Sprint feature winner.

There was a large crowd and a pit full of race cars at the Boyd Raceway's Annual IMCA Grand Nationals Saturday night. Rain had been reported in some areas, but it turned out to be a great night for racing. Six classes of cars compeded for cash and prices. A special thanks to All Metal Recycling for adding an additional $500 to the IMCA SportMod feature for a total of $2,000 to win.

RaceSaver Sprint Winner: Justin Melton, No. 11, was the RaceSaver Wingless Sprints feature winner. Coming in second was a hard charging Kevin Ramey, No 3x, Chad Wilson, No. 20, was third, Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was fourth and Claud Estes, No. 74e, was fifth. The RaceSaver Sprints ran without their wing and it made for some very exciting racing.

Kent Lewis Jr. was involved in a bad wreck during a heat race.

Michelle Melton and Richard Miller was also involved in a Sprint wreck.

IMCA Modified Winner: Chad Melton, No. 71, defeated Glen Hibbard, No. 127. Abilene's Tommy Fain, No. 90, was third, "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and Charles Brewer, No. 72, was fifth.

IMCA SportMod Winner: $2,000 was on the line for the winner. Dean Abbey, No. 26, held off Chris Cogburn, No. 601, for the feature win. "Extreme Graphics" Brad Shirley, No. 00, was third, Chase Parson, No. 57, was fourth and Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was fifth.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: N/A

IMCA Hobby Stock Winner: Jeremy Oliver, No. 82, was the feature winner. Kenny Ware, No. 83k, was second, No. 49, was third, No. 00, was fourth and No. 256, was fifth.

IMCA Sport Compac Winner: Danny Bagerly, No. 9, was the winner. Russell Sims, No. 87, was second, Steve Beaver, No. 86, was third, Tim Butler, No. 29, was fourth and Michael Burnside, No. 12, was fifth.

Michael Burnside had a good run and his car was voted Best Appearing Compac car.

The fans got to vote on the Best Appearing Car in each class.

William Gould was the $2,500 Modified winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Showdown

William Gould was the IMCA Modified feature winner.

The 2013 IMCA National Modified Champion and KSP Modified Champion William Gould, No. 60, took home the $2,500 first prize at Kennedale Speedway Park's Annual Showdown Sunday night. Saturday's finals were postposed until Sunday due to rain. A large crowd was on hand to view the races along with 150 race cars that competed for the $40,000 purse. 

IMCA Modified Winner: William Gould, No. 60, like he has done all season, managed to hold off the second place car to take the win. Glen Hibbard, No. 127, had a strong run to finish second. Chase Allen, No. 9, was third, Abilene's Tommy Fain, No. 90, was fourth and Jeremy Willis, No. 010, was fifth.

Downtown Scotty Brown wrecked during the B-main.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: In a close finish, Jay Bransom, No. 33c, held off Dennis Bissonette, No. 07d, to take the feature win. Kirk Martin, No. 69, was third, Kevin Sustaire, No. 71, was fourth and Roger Hauser, No. 81, was fifth.

Street Stock Winner: Lance Hanson Jr., No. 5h, was the feature winner. Demetrius Carter, No. 44c, was second, Danny Pattat, No. 20, was third, Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was fourth and Ryan Powers, No. 12, was fifth.

Factory Stock Winner: That was some Factory Stock. Justin Whitehead, No. 36j, ran away with the feature race. James Thompson, No. 85, was second, Brandon Palmer, No. 2x, was third, Johnny Lowey, No. 46, was fourth and Kenny Smitherman, No. 6, was fifth.

Jr. Mini Stock Winner: Logan Carter, No. 44, was the feature winner. Blake Clark, No. 88, was second, Mensa Rose, No. 08, was third, Tanner Baugus, No. 02, was fourth and Jarrett Bransom, No. 29, was fifth.

It was good to see fan favorite Anthony Combs back at the track.

Alot of work went into getting the pits ready after Saturday's rain.

140 race teams attempt to qualify for Saturday's Showdown at Kennedale Speedway Park

Glen Hibbard was the top IMCA Modified qualifier.

Friday night at Kennedale Speedway Park, close to 140 race cars attemped to qualify for Saturday's Annual Showdown. Along with Saturday's full race program, KSP is also having a Trailer Race. Over $40,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to seven different classes of race cars. Gates open at 3 p.m. with heat races starting at 6 p.m. For more information, go to: www.raceksp.com

William Gould was a close second.

IMCA Modified Top Qualifiers: Glen Hibbard, No. 127, held off a hard charging William Gould, No. 60, the 2013 KSP Modified Champion, to take the top qualifying spot. Abilene's Tommy Fain, Boyd Raceway's 2013 Modified Champion, was third and Chase Allen, No. 9, was fourth. These driver's are locked into Saturday's $2,500 to win Modified feature.

RaceSaver Sprints Top Qualifiers: It looked like D.J. Estes, No. 74, had the Sprint to beat, but with two laps to go, he got in trouble with a lap car, opening the door for John Ricketts, No. 5r, to get the top qualifying spot. Jeff Day, No. 95, was second, Coby Estes, No. 71, was third and Chase Brewer, No. 99, was fourth. These four Sprints are locked into Saturday's $1,500 to win Sprint feature.

IMCA SportMods Top Qualifiers: "Extreme Graphics" Brad Shirley, No. 00, is on a roll. Last Sunday, Brad picked up a feature win at 281 Speedway's Speedfest and Friday night he held off Dean Abbey, No. 26, for the top qualifying spot. Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, was third and finishing out the top four positions was Jake UpChurch. No. 24.
