William Gould makes it two Modified feature wins in-a-row at Kennedale Speedway Park

William Gould, No. 60, picked up his second IMCA Modified feature win in-a-row at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Another large crowd watched some exciting races and close to 150 race cars were in the pits. Rounding out the top five in the Modified feature was Matt Martin, No. 11, who came in second, Jack Sartain, No. 47, was third, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was fourth and Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fifth.

RaceSaver Sprint Winner: Shawn Mize, No. 12, defeated Chipper Wood, No. 47, for the feature win. Jeb Sessums, No. 01j, was third, Chase Brewer, No. 99, was fourth and Jason Howell, No. 44, was fifth. 

Derrik Silvers No. 29 wrecked during a heat race.

Abilene's Tommy Fain finally gets that Modified feature victory at Boyd Raceway

Abilene's Tommy Fain, "God is Awesome", No. 90, picked up his first feature win of the season Friday night at Boyd Raceway. Eric Winnett, No. 21, took the early lead, but Tommy and his running buddy, Kevin Sustaire, No. 71k, worked their way to the front and passed Eric for the lead. The hard charger award goes to Sam "Rooster" Cox, No. 3, who came on strong, but settled for third place. Eric Winnett, No. 21, ended up fourth and Chris Simmel, No. 29, was fifth. Eleven Modifieds started the feature.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Alex Hickman, No. 94h, drove away with the IMCA SportMod feature. Dean Abbey, No. 26, had a strong run, for second, Extreme Graphics Brad Shirley, No. 00, was third, J.C. Howell, No. 103, was fourth and Jeffey Abbey, No.37, was fifth.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: In one of the closest races of the evening, Matt Guillaume, No. 50, defeated Gabe Tucker, No. 28, for the win. Dennis Bissonette, No. 07d, was third, Danny Brown, No. 21b, was fourth and Charlie Coleman, No. 33c, was fifth. A good field of 17 IStocks started the feature.

IMCA Hobby Stock Winner: Daniel Van Haitsma, No. 00, was the feature winner. Giving a great effort for second, was April Phillips, No. 42. Jon Storm No. 0, was third.

IMCA Sport Compac Winner: Willard Van Haitsma, No. 00, was the feature winner. David Bachman, No. 85, was second, Richard Cadwallader, No. 78, was third, No. 88d, was fourth and Gary Brown, No. 87, was fifth. Alex Pidgeon, No. 19, filpped his car in turn three, but was not injuried.

Alex Pidgeon was involved in a wreck during the feature. 

The fans got a kick out of the 2nd Annual "Fast Ass" Race. 

The lights above the snack bar went out.

It was a beautiful night for racing.

Randy Martin muscled his way to Modified win at 281 Speedway's Summer Bash

Abilene's Josh McGaha, No. 911, gave it all he had in the IMCA Modified feature at 281 Speedway's Annual Summer Bash Sunday evening. This was the second of a two day show. Josh started from the back of the field and worked his way up to second place only to spin out in turn 4 with a few laps to go. Randy Martin, No. 373, who started on the front, managed to hold off a couple of challengers and take the win. Spillman, No. 444, was second, No. 37, was third, Davis, No. d02, was fourth and Hunter, No. 13, was fifth.

Josh McGaha had a strong showing.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Sid Kiphen, No. 58, was the feature winner. Gabe Tucker, No. 95, was very close but settled for second, Burgess, No. 64, was third, Abbey, No. 37, was fourth and No. 28, was fifth.

IMCA Stock Cars Winner: Gabe Tucker, No. 28, was the feature winner. No. 110, was second, No. 4, was third, Cosper, No. 33c, was fourth and No. 404, was fifth.

The Trailer Race returned to Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. You know what that means. A large crowd, a lot of race cars, exciting racing and destruction on the track. The trailer race didn't disappoint. Twelve trailer teams completed for the prizes and the fans really enjoyed the mayhem on the track. As far as racing, over 130 race cars were in the pits. One of the most exciting races of the evening was the Jr. Mini race that saw Jarrett Bransom, No. 29, pick up his first feature win after the two race leaders wrecked with two laps to go. 

IMCA Modified Winner: William Gould, No. 60, returned to the winners circle. Gould placed second Friday night at Mountain Creek Speedway. A hard charging Glen Hibbard, No. 127, was second, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Steve Rutherford, No. 95, was fourth and Eric Winnett, No. 21, was fifth.

Blaine Shives defeats William Gould to take Modified win at Mountain Creek Speedway

There must have been a full moon at Mountain Creek Speedway Friday night. If you were not there, you missed some very exciting races and several wrecks. Eric Miles, No. 65, had a major wreck in his IMCA Modified heat race. Eric's race car left the track and went into the retaining fence. Eric did not appear to be hurt, but his car suffered heavy damage.

IMCA Modified Winner: Blaine Shives, No. 571, held off William Gould, No. 60, to take the IMCA Modified feature. Rusty Travethen Sr., No. 751, was third, a hard charging Sam Cox, No. 3, was fourth and Jack Sartain, No. 47, was fifth. Eric Miles, No. 65, was involved in a bad wreck during his heat race. The safety crew worked to repair the fence and electrical box.

Street Stock Winner: Archie Whitt Jr., No. 46, was the feature winner. Ricky Braddock, No. 38, was second, Walter Hamilton, No. 1w, was third, Bill McGee, No. 6, was fourth and Justin Roberts, No. 03, was fifth. David Cook, No. 32, was DQ.

Bomber Winner: Jordan Stegman, No. 88, was the feature winner. Dillion Moss, No. 33, was second, Randy Corn, No. 5, was third, current points leader Ricky Howell, No. 037, was fourth and Bobby Hopgood, No. 8, was fifth.

Local Kevin Ramey rules at Kennedale Speedway Park ASCS Lone Star Sprint Show

July 13 (Saturday)

The ASCS Smiley's Racing Products Lone Star Region Sprints rolled into Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. A large crowd was on hand to watch the races. KSP's promoter and former sprint car champion, Kevin Ramey, thought that he would get in on the fun. Starting from the second row, Kevin, the Print Place No. 7m, slowly worked his way to the front and passed current Lone Star Region points leader Matt Covington, No. 95, for the lead. Kevin traded slide jobs with a couple of drivers, that made for some very exciting racing, before he went on to take the checkered flag and the win. Patrick Stasa, No. 19, was second, Matt Covington, No. 95, ended up third, Blake Hahn, No. 17, was fourth and Josh Baughman, No. 17x, was fifth. Eighteen Sprints started the 25-lap feature.

J.P. Bailey was involed in a wild wreck during the heat races.

IMCA Modified Winner: Chad Estes, No. 183, was the IMCA Modified feature winner in a wild one. "Downtown" Scotty Brown , No. 144, ended up second, Damon Hammond, No. 116, was third, Matt Martin, No. 11, was fourth and Glen Hibbrard, No. 127, was fifth. William Gould, No. 60, failed to finish for the second night in-a-row.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Jacob Pirkle, No. 411, was the feature winner. Dean Abbey, No. 26, was second, Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was third, Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, was fourth and Allen Montgomery, No. 38, was fifth.

Brad Shirley and Jeffry Abbey was involved in a wreck during the feature.

Factory Stock Winner: Chance Morris, No. 6, was the feature winner. Duane Wolff, No. 1, was second, Larry Smithermn, No. 74, was third, Doug Ahanek II, was fourth and Casey Lyles, No. 27, was fifth.

Jr. Mini Stock Winner: Tyler Smith, No. 24, was the feature winner. Jerrett Bransom, No. 29, was second, Logan Carter, No. 44, was third, Brock Shirley, No. 10b, was fourth and Westin Abbey, was fifth.

Race fans young and old enjoyed the racing. 

A large crowd was on hand to watch the races.
