RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas held their $17,000 Grand Re-Opening Saturday night. With a new owner and alot of improvements to the facility, they were hoping to get the new season off to a good start. Despite the cold weather, a large crowd was on hand to enjoy the races and there were over 125 race teams in the pits. It was a great way to start the new season.

In the USRA Modified feature, Bobby Malcus, No. 4m, muscled his way to the front and pulled away from the field to take the USRA Modified feature $1,500 prize. Wayne Melton, No. 18m, was second, Cody Smith, No. 18s, was third, Charlie Smith, No. 3c, was fourth and Scotty Brown, No. 44, was fifth.
Sal Hernandez lost his rear end.

Koty Adams was the 305 RaceSaver Sprints feature winner.
In the RaceSaver 305 Sprints feature, Raven Culp, No. 3, looked like he had this race all wrapped up, but he ran into a lap car going into turn 1. That opened the door for Koty Adams, No. 16, to take the $1,000 win. Derek Silvers, No. 29, was second, Dustin Woods, No. 55, was third, Robert V8 Vetter, No. V8, was fourth and Dale Wester, No. 17b, was fifth.

Jake UpChurch had a strong showing in the Limited Modified feature.
In the Limited Modifieds feature, Jason Gore, in his beautiful No. 021, was the $750 feature winner. Jake UpChurch, No. 24, gave it his all, but had to settle for second, Tommy Davis Jr., No. 17, was third, Robert V8 Vetter, No.V8, was fourth and Tory Yant, No. 00, was fifth.

Jeff Turner's beautiful Street Stock.
In the Street Stocks feature, Tim Clonch, No. 25, battled to the front and held off the field to take the $400 feature winner. Jeff Turner, No. 44, was second, Brian Sartain, No. 90, was third, Jack UpChurch, No. 24, was fourth and Clint Frideley. No. 08, was fifth.
In the Factory Stocks feature, Bobby Morphis, No. 7b, was the $300 feature winner. Brian Marusak, No. XLV, was second, Obie Simpkins, No. 83, was third, James Riddle, No. 14, was fourth and Chris Carson, No. 39, was fifth. There were over 40 Factory Stocks in the pits and there were three B Mains to help decide who made the feature.
Kyle Kent was plenty warm on a cold night.
Reworked track and new improvements.
A full moon made for a special night.
An excellent crowd was hand to watch the races.
