Troy Taylor, No. 56, was crowned the 2012 USRA Modified champion at Cowtown Speedway Saturday night. Tonight's USRA Modified feature win was not easy. Troy passed Cody Smith, No. 18s, at the finish line to take the checkered flag. Sean Jones, No. 24, who had a strong run, settled for third, Tom Earl III, No. 46, was fourth and J.P.Dowell, No. 715, was fifth.
Troy Taylor was crowned the 2012 Modified champion.

RaceSaver Sprints feature winner: Claude Estes, No. 74, survived a wild Racesaver Sprints feature. The top three Sprints, Justin Melton, No. 11, Chad Wilson, No. 20x, and Jeff Day, No. 95, took each other out with four laps to go. Claude started on the front after the caution and cruised to a feature win. IMCA Modified Feature Winner: "Destroyer Chassis" Darryl Campbell, No. 83, finally made his way back to the winners circle in the IMCA Modifieds. Mike Mclaughlin, No. 715, was second, Jeff Long, No. 401, was third, Michael Jackson, No. 45, was fourth and Dillion Pike, No. 6, was fifth.

Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track (Fort Worth) September 15 (Saturday)
Beautiful weather, a large crowd and over 270 race teams made for some exciting racing at the second annual Port-A-Cool U.S. National Dirt Track Championships at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday night. Drivers had one last chance to make the Modified and Limited Modified features.
In the Modified feature, John Whittington, No. 5w, looked like he had the car to beat. But with about ten laps to go, in the 30-lap feature, Chris Brown, No. 21b, chased John down, and took the lead and the win. Shane Hebert, No. 9, was third, Jason Ingalls, No. 12, was fourth and Chris Henigan, No. 16, was fifth.

Jason Johnson, No. 41, defeated Wayne Johnson, No. 77, to take the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprints 40-lap feature. Logan Forler, No. 5h, was third, Travis Rilat, No. 29, was fourth and Brady bacon, No. 99, was fifth. There were a total of forty-two Sprints.

Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track (Fort Worth) September 14 (Friday)
A little rain didn't dampen the spirits of over two hundred race teams Friday night at the second annual Port-A-Cool U.S. National Dirt Track Championships at Texas Motor Speedway. Modifieds and Limited Modifieds tried to quailfly for the A-features Saturday night. There were eleven heats of Limited Modifieds and nine heats of Modifieds. Local favorite Troy Taylor, No. 56, wrecked his Limited Modified and failed to make the top 8 in the Modifieds. Troy and hundreds of other drivers will get another chance Saturday to qualify for the A-features.
