Dean Abbey adds another win to his total at Kennedale Speedway Park

Starting from the tenth postion in the IMCA SportMods feature at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night, Dean Abbey, No. 26, worked his way to the front and went on to pick up another win. The real battle was for second place. When the dust had settled, Ronnie Welborn, No. 20, was second, Kevin Rutherford, No. 9, was third, Terry Schroeder, No. 27, was fourth and Michael Newhard, No. 114, was fifth. Jeff Reynolds, No. 40, lead the race for several laps, but had a problem with Justin Boone, No. 23, and both went to the pits.

Keith White, No. 1, was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner. Damon Hammond, No. 116, was second, Jay Bransom, No. 29, was third, Darryl Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and Matt Winnett, No. 999, was fifth.

Matt Winnett had a strong showing in the 999 Modified.

Jason Howell, No. 44, is on a roll. After coming in second in the RaceSaver Sprints feature Friday night at Mountain Creek Speedway, Jason won the A-main Saturday night. Dustin Woods, No. 05, was second, Chase Brewer, No. 99, was third, Steven Elliott, No. 19, was fourth and Marvin Lough, No. 98, was fifth.

Dillon Pike, No. 6, was the IMCA Modified feature winner at Mountain Creek Speedway Friday night. Sixteen IMCA Modifieds started the A-main. The hard charger award goes to Sam Cox, No. 3c, who started on the sixth row and came in a close second. Mike Mclaughlin, No. 715, was third, Rusty Travathan Sr., No. 751, was fourth and Blaine Shives, No. 02, was fifth.

Sam Cox had a strong second place finish.

The third leg of the Red River Rumble rolled into Cowtown Speedway Saturday night. The American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region vs The Oil Medics LoneStar Region ASCS Sprints Show. Twenty-four Sprints started the 25-lap A-Main. Mike Goodman, No. 11g, who came in second at Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night, started on the front row and a few laps into the race, Mike worked his way passed Martin Edwards, No. 45, to take the lead and go on to take the $2,000 feature win. Robert Sellers, No. 36, was second, Martin Edwards, No. 45, ended up third, J.P.Bailey, No. 45x, was fourth and George White, No. 10, was fifth.

It was a hot night at Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday for the Gordon Woolley Classic. Thirty Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region Sprints battled the heat and the competition to qualify for the Life Partners Inc. sponsored $2,000 to win ASCS Sprints feature. Twenty Sprints started the 25-lap feature with Fort Worth's Kevin Ramey, No. 7m, starting on the pole. Ramey quickly took the lead and managed to hold off the other Sprints to take the win. Troy Taylor, No. 56, not only won the USRA Modifieds feature at Cowtown Speedway Saturday night, but he also won the Limited Modifieds feature as well. In the USRA Modified feature, the skies overhead were threatening, but Troy, starting from the second row, quickly stormed his way to the front to take the lead and the feature win. Jim Knight, No. 73, was second, Eric Tomlinson, No. 47t, was third, Sean Jones, No. 24, was fourth and Danny Caldwell, No. 81, was fifth.

Storm clouds were forming off to the east.
