Ryan Beechler Sprint Series of Texas winner at Kennedale Speedway Park

Ryan Beechler, #6, was the Sprint Series of Texas feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. This was the second KSP appearance of the season for the SST series. Thirty-one SST Sprints competed at the 1/4 mile, semi-banked, clay track. Jeff Emerson, #35, came in second and Mike Herring, #99, was third. This was Jeff's first race in a SST Sprint.

Glen Hibbard was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

In one of the closest races of the evening, Glen Hibbard, #127, battled current points leader Keith White, #1, for the IMCA Modified feature win. Hibbard and White kept swapping the lead, but with one lap to go, Glen edged out White for the win. Jacob Pirkle, #41, came in third.

Next week the IMCA Modifieds will be running for $1,000 to win.

Hard Luck Award. Matt Martin, #11, had mechanical problems during the heat races. He loaded up his car and went back to his shop. Matt installed another motor and make it back to compete in the Modifieds A-main.

Gary Fox was the IMCA SportMods feature winner.

For the second week in-a-row Gary Fox, #12, was the IMCA Southern SportMods feature winner. Dean Abbey, #26, came close, but settled for second place. Jake UpChurch, #24, was third.

Keith White was the IMCA Stock Cars feature winner.

Current points leader Keith White, #1, was the IMCA Stock Cars feature winner. A hard charging Jay Bransom, #29, was second and veteran Levi Hodges, #108, was third.

Jeff Kinnaird, #07, was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner. John Villars, #15j, was second and Frank Lackey, #41, was third.

Ryan Powers was the Street Stocks feature winner.

Arlington's Ryan Power's, #12r, was the Street Stocks feature winner. Justin Lamar, #121j, was second and Kirk Williams, #11w, was third.

The Pre Race Show with www.racinwithneal.com featured Jason Howell, #44, the Track Announcer, Doug Rollo and David Redmon, #54. The Pre Race Show begins at 6:15 and features driver interviews, free color photos and autographs.

Matt Covington wins the ASCS Showdown at Heart O' Texas Speedway

The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region points leader, Matt Covington, #11c, won the ASCS Sprints A-main at the 1/4-mile Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. It was The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region vs. Smiley's Racing Products ASCS Gulf Region Showdown presented by Life Partner's Inc. Thirty-five Sprint cars were on hand to compete for the 25-lap feature. Matt Covington started on the second row, and about half way through the race, took over the lead and went on to take the $2,000 win. This was the second regional ASCS Sprints feature win for Matt this season. Two-time Gulf South champion Brandon Berryman, #31, was second and a hard charging Travis Rilat, #29, was third. Eric Baldaccini, #4, and Channin Tankersley, #71, rounded out the top five.

  A large crowd was on hand to watch the races.

Keith White was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

The IMCA Modifieds feature was shaping up to be a good one. Chase Jupe, #303, and Keith White, #1, started on the front row. On the first lap, going into turn two, Jupe had problems and was not able to finished the race. Keith quickly took the lead and was never challenged for the win. Ben Ketteman, #37, was second and Pat McGuire, #9, was third.

T.J. Green was the IMCA Southern SportMods feature winner.

In the IMCA Southern SportMods feature, T.J. Green, #55, was the feature winner. Kevin Green, #5, was second and Brandon Guerin, #sly1, was third.

Michael Gaunet was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner.

In the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature, Michael Gaunet, #25, picked up his first feature win this season. Jeremy Oliver, #82, was second and Andy Roller, #63, was third.

Melvin Kemp, #54, was the winner of the Pure Stock feature. Cody Shaw, #9, was second and Weston Glaser, #15, was third.

LoneStar Speedway to host $100,000 Sprint Car Nationals

This coming October 13th through the 15th race fans and race teams will be treated to one of the largest Sprint Car racing events in Texas State history with the running of the $100,000 LoneStar Sprint Nationals; and event registration, rules, format, event flyer and much, much more are available for viewing.

By clicking www.darinshort.com/SCN.html  there you will find a complete website chocked full of all of the LoneStar Sprint Nationals happenings…including the unique qualifying format.

And as impressive as the purse for this event is: grandstand tickets, pit passes and entry fees will be at very affordable prices. General admission Adult grandstand tickets are just $15 on Thursday and Friday night; and just $20 on Saturday's finale! Plus fans can take advantage of a 3-day general admission ticket of just $40 upon their arrival at the track on Thursday October 13th. No advance tickets will be sold.

Teams will want to enter as quickly as possible, as there are approximately 56 pit spaces in the primary pit area that accommodate teams with lights, PA system and close access to the track/grandstands…and the first 56 entries will receive reserved pit parking within those spaces, whether they are a 360 team or a 305 team.

Entries received after reaching the 56 mark will be parked as the track sees fit, including open trailer teams who will be pitted in the infield of the track. 

Plus there are several fan-friendly components, as this event is designed for the avid Sprint Car fan.

Thursday night October 13th will be Smiley's Racing Products Qualifying Night, featuring a complete program of Sprint Cars paying $2,000 to win plus $500 to win for 305 Sprints. Smiley's Racing Products and Hoosier Tire Southwest has been in the racing business since 1968 serving racers with everything they need to hit the track.

Friday night October 14th will be the Eagle Motorsports Qualifying Night, featuring a complete program of Sprint Cars paying $2,000 to win plus $500 to win for 305 Sprints. Eagle Motorsports manufactures top quality Sprint Cars, Midget & MicroSprint Chassis; and are based out of Springfield, IL.

New promoter at Cowtown Speedway

Effective immediately, there is a new promoter at Cowtown Speedway. His name is Jeff Martinez. 

Jeff is a long time racer and is partner in EJ’s Towing of Lillian (a suburb of Ft. Worth).

So here’s what you can expect:

The first thing you will notice upon your arrival at the pit gate window, are some new faces; Kelly Marcuse, Shannon Chapman and Shelley Lawrence.

Most existing track officials will remain the same; however there will be the addition of Eric Lawrence and Jeff Martinez.

On the grandstand side, at this point, adult tickets will remain at the discounted rate of $10 for ages 12 and up, ages 6-11 will be $5; and all kids 5 and under will now be admitted free!

The same gate times of 6pm and race time of 8pm on Friday’s will still remain in effect.

You will still be able to bring in your drink coolers (size of a 6-pack) as long as they do not have glass containers.

Kids will also enjoy the return of Candy Call, which will held at and intermission during the course of the evening.

The Cowtown website has also had a facelift on the homepage. Please click www.CowtownSpeedway.com to check it out. Also, you can find new contact information for the Cowtown staff there. Please direct any comments, questions or concerns to the appropriate person listed on that web page.

Due to the new change in management, all drivers will need to fill out a new W9 form upon their arrival at the track. This form will be available at the pit window. If you are a driver or owner, please ask for one if one is not offered to you. This is a quick one page form that will just take you a moment to complete; but it is required by Federal law.

We look forward to providing race fans and teams the best in racing entertainment, which has been a Cowtown tradition over the past 40 years.

Veteran Craig Petty got his first IMCA Modifieds feature win at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Jay Bransom, #29, was second and Jacob Pirkle, #41, was third. Current points leader Keith White, #1, suffered a flat tire and had to settle for ninth place.

Haslet's Gary Fox, #12, was the winner of the IMCA Southern SportMods A-main. Zac Sydney, #2z, was second and Jon White Jr. was third.

Mark Mohon was the STEM feature winner.

This was the second stop at KSP this season for the Southern Topless Economy Modifieds. Twenty-one STEM cars were on hand for their eighth race of the season. Sulpher Spring's Mark Mohon, #211, held off several cars to take the STEM A-main. Eddie Doggett, #44, was second and Robbie Daniels, #27, was third. The STEM Series next race is August 13 at Lake County Speedway.

KSP has been good to Azle's Jason Howell. The driver of the #44 RaceSaver Sprint. Jason picked up another victory at KSP Saturday night in the RaceSaver Sprints A-main. He held off a hard charging Ryan Hall, #79, and Shane Clement, #2, for the A-main win.

Large crowd enjoys Trailer Race at Kennedale Speedway Park

A full moon made for some very exciting races.

A full moon, a large crowd, nine classes of cars, and a Trailer Race, made for a very exciting racing evening. In the Trailer Race, fifteen entries were competing for the $1,000 prize. The Trailer Race is made up of mostly trucks with trailers carrying boats. A few minutes into the Trailer Race, there were boats and debris scattered all over the track. The last entry running with the most laps is declared the winner.

In the Lone Star Dwarf Car's heat race, Dan Noble suffered a medical problem and was taken to the hospital. The Dwarf car drivers elected not to run the feature in his honor.

The Dwarf Cars were in the missing man formation.

Azle's Jason Howell, #44, was the RaceSaver Sprints feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Chase Doughty, #1x, started on the pole and quickly took the lead. Jason, who started on the fourth row outside, slowly begin to work his way to the front. Ten laps into the 20-lap A-main, Jason took the lead and began to run-a-way from the field. Jeff Emerson, #35, was second and the current points leader Dustin Woods, #05, was third.

Craig Woods took a wild flip during his heat race. He was not injured.

In the IMCA SportMods feature, Dean Abbey, #26, and J.C. Howell, #103, battled it out with Abbey taking the win. Last weeks winner Tom Earl Jr., #46 was third.

Crandall's Calvin Williams, #11, picked up another Street Stocks A-main win. John Herring, #07, was second and Shelby Williams was third.

Scott Reneau RaceSaver 305 Sprints winner at RPM Speedway

Race fans celebrating the July 4th holiday at RPM Speedway.

A large crowd enjoyed a fireworks show and five classes of race cars at RPM Sunday night. RPM Speedway is a beautiful facility that is located just outside of Crandall and generally runs on Friday night. This was a special July 4 holiday show that featured the RaceSaver 305 Sprints. In the 20-lap A-main, Scott Reneau, #1s, started on the pole and quickly took the lead. For most of the race it was a three way battle between Scott, Larry Long, #1m, and Palm Harbor Homes sponsored Michael Lang, #14. Although there were some tense moments with lap cars, Scott Reneau took the checkered flag with Michael Lang coming in second and a hard charging Raven Culp, #3, placing third.

Terry Pritchett was the Modifieds feature winner.

In the Modifieds A-main, Terry Pritchett, #20, started a couple of rows back, but quickly shot to the front by taking the high groove. Terry seem to have the Modified to beat as he pulled away from the field. A caution tightened things up, but Steve McMackin, #41m, had to settle for second and Westley Veal, #11x, came in third.

  Ken Miller was the Limited Modifieds feature winner. 

In the Limited Modifieds feature, Ken Miller, #1m, took the early lead and never looked back. The real race was for second with Veteran Tommy Davis, #8, and J.C. Howell, #103, getting after it. Tommy managed to hold on to second with J.C. Howell coming in third.

Chris Davis was the Street Stocks feature winner.

In the Street Stocks feature, Clint Frideley, #08, battled Chris Davis, #98, for the lead, but Chris slowly began to pull away and take the checkered flag and the win. Megan Robison, #43, was third.

Mike Marusak, #45, was the winner in the Bomber A-main. Rounding out the top three was Wyndell Luckett, #87, and Leo Howell, #103. 

Mike Marusak was the Bombers feature winner.

The race fans were treated to a fireworks show during intermission.
