Allen Montgomery King of the Hill winner at Kennedale Speedway Park

Allen Montgomery was the King of the Hill race winner.

Allen Montgomery, #38, defeated Jeremy Montgomery, #11, in the King of the Hill race Saturday night at Kennedale Speedway Park for the $500 win. Ten cars completed in the event. Race favorite Jeff Kinnaird, #07, who was defeated in an earlier round, was allowed to reenter the race. He was a strong competitor, but was defeated by Allen Montgomery, which setup the final race with Allen's cousin Jeremy Montgomery.

Keith White was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

For 16-laps it looked like Danny Rodgers, #702, was going to pickup his second IMCA Modifieds feature win in-a-row. But with 4-laps to go, there was a caution that allowed Keith White, #1, and Matt Martin, #11, to tighten up the field. Both Keith and Matt managed to get around Danny for first and second place. Danny had to settle for third.

Jeff Kinnaird was the winner of the IMCA SportMods feature.

Jeff Kinnaird, #07, was the winner of the IMCA SportsMods  feature. Dean Abbey, #26, was second and Jeff Reynolds, #40, was third.

Jay Bransom was the IMCA Stock Cars feature winner.

Local Jay Bransom, #29, was the IMCA Stocks Cars feature winner. Daniel Parker, #3p, was second and Travis Bailey, #5x, was third.

Jeff Kinnaird was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner.

An enthusiastic Jeff Kinnaird, #07, won the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature. John Villars was second and Jeremy Montgomery, #11, was third.

Demetrius Carter was the Street Stocks feature winner.

Demetrius Carter, #44, was the Street Stocks feature winner. Ryan Powers, #12r, was a close second and Justin Lamar was third.

Dustin Woods was the RaceSaver Sprints feature winner.

Dustin Woods, #05, from Forney, was the RaceSaver Sprints feature winner. Josh Hawkins was second and Jeff Emerson, #35, was third.

Danny Rodgers gets first win in IMCA Modifieds feature at Kennedale Speedway Park

Danny Rodgers, #702, picked up his first win at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night in the IMCA Modifieds feature. Starting on the front row Danny quickly took the lead and managed to hold off Jacob Pirkle, #41, for the win. Current points leader Keith White, #1, was third.

Devin Burgess was the IMCA SprotMods feature winner.

It was the first time for several drivers as Devin Burgess, #64, got his first win in the IMCA SportMods feature. Gary Fox, #12, was second and Jeff Kinnaird, #07, was third.

Chad Estes was the winner of the IMCA Stock cars feature.

Chad Estes, #83, was the IMCA Stock Cars feature winner. Chad picked up a kool $500 for his first prize win. Veteran Levi Hodges, #08, was second and Dennis Bissonnette, #07, was third.

Chris Grusendorf was the IMCA Hobby Stock feature winner. Top five to the King of the Hill race.

KSP new comer Chris Grusendorf, #74, was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner. Jeff Kinnaird, #7, led for several laps but developed front end problems. Allen Montgomery, #38, was second and Jeremy Montgomery, #11, was third.

Demetrius Carter was the Street Stocks feature winner.

Demetrius Carter, #44, was the winner in the Street Stocks A-main. Ryan Powers, #12r, was second and Shawn Byrd, #69, was third.

John Freeman, #21, was the last car standing in the Jr. Mini's feature.

Jeb Sessums was the 600 Mini Sprints feature winner.

Number P40 was the winner in the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature. Brandon Hull, #4h, was second.

Triston Dycus was the SMP Series Modifieds winner at Cowtown Speedway

After coming in a close third at RPM Speedway in Crandall, TX on Friday night, it looked like Clyde Dunn Jr., #88xxx, was going to get the win in the SMP COMP Cams Longhorn Speedway finale at Cowtown Speedway Saturday night. He started on the pole along side the series points leader Tyler Townsend, #12t. Clyde quickly took the lead with Tyler right behind him. Several laps into the race Tyler caught Dunn, but was unable to pass him. Coming out of turn 2 Tyler spun out and had to go to the back of the field. The championship wasn't looking good for Tyler because he had to finish in the top six to be crowned the series champion. In the mean time, the car with fastest time Triston Dycus, #14, was quickly gaining on Dunn. With about 10-laps to go, Triston passed Dunn, who had to drop out because of tire problems, to take the lead and the $1,500 prize money. Tyler Townsend finished third and was crowned the SMP Series champion.

This was the first year for the SMP COMP Cams Longhorn Series. A series that consists of six races in seven nights at several different tracks.

There was a major wreck in the SMP Modified A-main. No one was injured.

Troy Taylor was the Limited Modifieds feature winner.

Veteran Troy Taylor, #56, was back at Cowtown Speedway and picked up where he left off. Troy won the Limited Modifieds feature. Tony Yant, #00, was second and current points leader Nick Clinkenbeard, #66, was third.

Kyle Jones was the 600 Mini Sprints winner.

Kyle Jones, #04, was the 600 Mini Sprints feature winner. C.J. Duarte, #83, was second and Chase Brewer, #3c, was third.

Garron Brimmer was the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature winner.

Garron Brimmer, #3g, was the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature winner. Lyndon Harvey, #99h, was second and Dillion Guthrie, #88, was third.

Larry Smitherman was the Bomber feature winner.

Larry Smitherman, #74, returned to the winners circle in the Bombers feature. Justin Baker, #8, was second and Trey Smitherman, #96, was third.

Rick Poteet was the Wing Modifieds feature winner.

A disappointing car count in the Wing Modifieds. In the feature, Rick Poteet, #61, finished along with two other cars to get the win. David Williams, #22, was second and Scott Trowell, #23, was third. Rick mentioned that several other cars were being built so hopefully the car count will be up.

A REMINDER. Cowtown Speedway will be going over to Friday nights starting June, 17.

Kevin Ramey was the ASCS Sprints winner at Heart O' Texas Speedway

A good size crowd welcomed the ASCS Sprints to H.O.T.

Three-time Regional Champion Kevin Ramey, #7m, started from the fourth position in The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region A-main at Heart O' Texas Speedway Friday night. Kevin was in a great spot until he stopped on the front straight-a-way and the ASCS officials told him that he would have to go to the rear of the field. Kevin explained that he had stopped because of debris on the track and the ASCS officials allowed him to return to his fourth spot and then it was just a matter of catching the Palm Harbor Homes sponsored Michael Lang, #14, and Eric Baldaccini, #4. Michael Lang took the early lead with Eric Baldaccini in hot pursuit. It was a close race between Michael and Eric for several laps, but Eric finally managed to get past Michael and with about 10 laps to go, Kevin past Eric for the win. This was Kevin Ramey's first ASCS Sprints victory of the season and he said he felt badly because his family was racing Mini Sprints back home. I'm sure the $2,000 first prize will help them get over it. Finishing out the top five were Michael Lang, #14, Justin Melton, #11, and Martin Edwards, #45.

In the IMCA Modifieds feature, Keith White, #1, started eight, but a couple of laps into the race he shot to the front and there was no catching him. Current points leader Chase Jupe, #303, was second and Steven MacIsaac, #43, was third.

Longhorn Speedweek at Cowtown Speedway featuring SMP Modifieds Series

Clyde Dunn Jr. was the feature winner in the fourth round at Lone Star Speedway.

This Saturday at Cowtown Speedway is the sixth and final night of the Longhorn Speedweek featuring the COMP Cams SMP Modified Series presented by Racing Head Service. A large field of the top Modified drivers will be on hand from throughout the region, racing for $1,500 to win and $125 to start. Fans can enjoy out of town invaders, such as June 8th series winner Tyler “The Terror” Townsend (TX), June 7th series winner Jason Hughes (OK), June 5th series winner Stormy Scott (NM); and a host of others including Trevor Egbert (TX), Peyton Taylor (AR) and TJ Herndon (TN). At the time of writing, Cowtown “regulars” Chase Allen and Jared Webb are presently 4th and 6th respectively in series points. Joining the touring SMP touring teams will be the Winged Modifieds, Bombers, Limited Modifieds, Winged 600’s on the ¼ mile. The Restricted 600’s will race on the Action Track.

Grandstand tickets are $15 for ages 12 and up, $5 ages 6-11, and FREE for ages 5 and under. All pit passes will be regular price of $30. Gates open at 5pm, hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7pm.

Jared Webb will be defending his local track.

Bobby Malcus will be trying to improve on his second place finish at Lone Star Speedway.

Chad Melton, #71, doesn't make it to Kennedale Speedway Park very often, but Saturday night was a very good night for him. Chad Melton held off a hard charging Glen Hibbard, #127, to take the IMCA $1,000 to win IMCA Modifieds feature. Sam Cox, #3, was third.
