Cowtown Speedway (Kennedale) April 30 (Saturday)
The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region Championship Series will be at the 1/4-mile banked Cowtown Speedway this Saturday night. This is the second event of the season. Veteran Gary Wright, #9, from Hooks, TX, won the first event at the Lone Star Speedway March 12 in Kilgore, TX.

Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale) April 23 (Saturday)
Academy's Keith White, #1, defeated Glen Hibbard, #127, in the IMCA Modifieds feature at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. A few laps into the race, Glen Hibbard, last weeks Modifieds feature winner, passed Damon Hammond, #116, to take the lead. It looked like Hibbard was going to pickup his second win until current KSP Modifieds points leader Keith White passed him coming out of turn two with two laps to go for the win. Matt Martin, #11, was your third place finisher.
With threatening weather in the area, the KSP crew did a great job of running the race program.

Dean Abbey was the IMCA Southern SportMods feature winner.
Dean Abbey, #26, defeated Kyle Weatherman, #6, for the IMCA Southern SportMods feature win. Veteran Tom Earl Jr., #46, was third.

Veteran Levi Hodges, #08, driving his Destroyer Chassis IMCA Stock Car, defeated current points leader Keith White, #1, to take the feature win. Daniel Parker, #3p, was third.
Jeff Kinnaird finished second in the IMCA Hobby Stock Feature.
Burleson's Gene Hadley, #02, was the winner in the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature. Last weeks winner Jeff Kinnaird, #07, was second and Frank Lackey, #41, was third.

Casey Fielding was the Street Stocks feature winner.
Local racer Casey Fielding, #19, was the Street Stocks feature winner. Tim Murray, #20, was second and David Cook, #32, was third.

The Texas Lone Star Series came to Boyd Raceway Sunday afternoon for its seventh event. Texas drivers were well represented in the four IMCA divisions along with several out-of-state drivers. With the dry and windy conditions that had sparked several major wildfires in the area, it made for some dry and dusty racing.

Chris Bragg was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.
Local bragging rights went to Chris Bragg, #24b, in the IMCA Modifieds feature. Starting on the outside front row, Chris quickly took the lead and never gave it up to take the checkered flag and the $400 win. Steven Orebaugu, #05, was second and Sam Cox, #3, was third.

Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale) April 16 (Saturday)
It was Fan Appreciation Night at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. All adults got in for $8 and children under twelve were free. A large crowd saw some exciting IMCA racing action.
Duain Pritchett came in second in the IMCA Stocks Cars features.
In the IMCA Stock Cars feature race an extra $500 was up for grabs. Chad Estes, #83, held off Duain Pritchett, #22, to take the feature win. Currents points leader, Keith White, #1, came in third place.
Glen Hibbard was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.
In the IMCA Modifieds feature, Glen Hibbard, #127, and current Modifieds points leader Keith White, #1, kept going back and forth for the lead. But when the checkered flag dropped, Glen took the well deserved win. Justin Fowler, #48, came in third.

Justin McCoy was the USRA Modifieds feature winner.
Sean Jones, #24, was very fast during the warmup laps. But in the first heat race for the USRA Modifieds, Sean was involved in a multi-car pileup in turn one that damaged his car for the evening. In the USRA Modifieds feature, Justin McCoy, #87, defeated Craig Moss, #25, for the win. Eric Tomlinson, #45t, was the third place finisher.

Kennedale Speedway Park (Kennedale) April 9 (Saturday)
Smiley Sitton's Sprint Series of Texas rolled into Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. This was the second of fifteen events for the SST series this season. In the A-Main feature Kenny Venable, #59, quickly sprinted to the lead. About ten-laps into the race, Rodney "Bones" Henderson, #67, passed Kenny for the lead. It looked like them "Bones" was going to get the win, but with two laps to go, Jerry Hammock, #4, passed him on the outside going into turn one to take the checkered flag. Venable finished third and Jason Howell, #44, won the hard charger award for starting on the back and finishing fourth. The SST series will make it's next appearance at Boyd Raceway Friday, April 22.
The Sprint teams were in the dark briefly when the lights went out.

Race of the week
All of the races were exciting, but my favorite was the IMCA Stock Cars feature. Several drivers battled it out for the lead, but when the dust had settled, current points leader Keith White, #1, took the win. Daniel Parker, #03, was second and Ryan powers, #r12, was third.

In the IMCA Modifieds feature, Granbury's Justin Fowler, #48, held off a hard charging Glen Hibbard, #127, to take the hard earned win. Matt Martin, #11, had another impressive showing finishing in the third place position.

George Gafford got it together to pickup a hard fought second place finish.
Several drivers got close, but none were able to pass James Skinner, #17s, who was the IMCA Southern Sport Mods feature winner. George Gafford, #70, was second and Dean Abbey, #26, was third.
Allen Montgomery was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature winner.
Keeping it in the family, Allen Montgomery, #38, was the IMCA Hobby Stock feature winner. Jerry Montgomery, #11, was second and Cade Lee, #1, was third.

Three vintage race cars were on display from the Vintage Texas Open Wheel Club. This was a preview of a vintage race car show that will be held on June 25 that KSP.
