Dean Abbey, #26, from Haslet, was the IMCA SportMods feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Brad Shirley, #00, was second and  Gary Underwood, #991, was third.

Keith White was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

Academy's Keith White, #1, was the Modifieds feature winner. Jeremy Willis, #010, was second and Matt Winnett, #999, was third.

March 26 (Saturday)

The Sprint Series of Texas opened their season at Cowtown Speedway Saturday. Jason Howell, #44, who started from the eleventh position, worked his way through the field to take the checkered flag. Jerry Hammock, #4, and Cory Minor, #8, rounded out the top three positions.

Kennedale Speedway Park will host the next SST race on April, 9. For more information on the SST Series, go to: www.sprintseriesoftexas.com

Jerry Hammock was the second place finisher.

Corey Minor was the third place finisher.

There were 31 SST Sprints in the pits.

Nick Clinkenbeard was the Limited Modifieds feature winner.

In the Limited Modifieds feature, Nick Clinkenbeard, #66, was the winner for the second week in a row. Coming in second was Brett Young, #69, and Billy Burt, #72, was third.

Andy Hogan was the 600 Mini Sprints feature winner.

In the 600 Mini Sprints, Andy Hogan, #3d, was the feature winner. Coming in second was Kyle Jones, #04, and Jeremy Hefler, #69, was third.

In the Restrictor Mini Sprints, Deylan Guthrie, #88, was the feature winner. Coming in second was Jeffrie Elisowski, #15x, and Lydon Harvey, #99h, was third.

Larry Smitherman was the Bomber feature winner.

A three-peat, Larry Smitherman, #74, is the man to beat in the Bomber class. Coming in second was Gary Smitherman, #8, and Chad Pearce, #82, was third.

Kevin Robinson was the Wing Modifieds feature winner.

For the third week in-a-row, Kevin Robinson, #75, was the Wing Modifieds feature winner. Rick Poteet, #61, was second and David Williams, #22, was third.

Jason Johnson Lucas Oil ASCS Sprints winner at the Devils Bowl 38th Annual Spring Nationals

Devils Bowl Speedway (Mesquite)
March 25 (Friday)

There were 52 Lucas Oil ASCS Sprints at the 38th Annual Spring Nationals Friday night. This was the first of two nights of racing at the historic 1/2-mile clay Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX. In the 25-lap feature, Aaron Reutzel, #87, started on the pole, but a few laps into the race Jeff Swindell, #28, took the lead with Jason Johnson, #41, not too far behind. It looked like Jeff was going to take the win, but with one lap to go, he lost a tire coming out of turn 4, opening the door for Jason Johnson, #41, to get his first Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters win of the young season. Coming in second was Sam Hafertepe Jr., #15h, Brady Bacon, #99, was third, Danny Lasoski, #33, was fourth, and Michael Dupuy, #33, was fifth. Jason's win locks him in, as well as Sam Hafertepe Jr., Brady Bacon and Danny Lasoski for tomorrow night's $6,000 to win finale.

Travis Rilat and his familiar #29 ASCS Sprint.

It was great to see Travis Rilat, #29, back in a Sprint as he recovers from last year's accident.

There were 52 ASCS Sprints in the pits.

Tommie Estes Jr. is calling it quits after twelve years as a ASCS director.

Local veteran racer Levi Hodges, #08, was the IMCA Stock Car feature winner at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Five hundred dollars was on the line and it wasn't easy to win, but when the dust had settled, Levi took the checkered flag and the first place money. Daniel Parker, #3p, was second and 2010 points champion Duain Pritchett, #22, was third.

Raven Culp was the RaceSaver Sprints feature winner.

In one of the closest races of the evening, Raven Culp, #6, from Mesquite, TX, managed to go low into turns 3 and 4 to pass Jerry Hammock, #4, on the last lap for the RaceSaver Sprints feature win. There were 21 Sprints in the pits as this was the final weekend before the Sprint Series of Texas begins it's season at Cowtown Speedway next Saturday night. Rodney "Hurricane" Henderson, #67, rounded out the top three finishers.

Scotty Brown was the IMCA Modifieds feature winner.

Keith White, #1, the 2010 Modifieds points champion, was giving it everything that he had, but Dallas's Scotty Brown, #44, took it to the house for the IMCA Modifieds feature win. Jay Bransom, #29, came in third and Glen Hibbard, #127, was fourth.

Tom Earl Jr. was the Southern SportMod feature winner.

For the second week in-a-row, Haslet's Tom Earl Jr., #46, was your Southern SportMods feature winner. It wasn't easy, Tom had to fight his way past Jeff Reynolds, #40 and George Gafford, #70, your second and third place finishers. 

Jimmy Parker was your Street Stocks feature winner.

Red Oak's Jimmy Parker, #21, was your Street Stock feature winner. Ron Palmer, #2x, was second and Sean Hill, #5, was third.

David Bissonnette was your IMCA Hobby Stock feature winner.

Last but not least was the IMCA Hobby Stocks feature that always put on a good show. All the way from Stephenville, David Bissonnette, #85, was your IMCA Hobby Stock feature winner. Bryan Sewell, #44, was second and Kyle Harrison, #62, was third.

Austin Theiss, #7, was your Jumior Mini-Stocks feature winner. Jared Marquez and Austin Carter rounded out your top three.
