Sept. 24 (Friday)

Cowtown Speedway hosted the first of two nights of racing for the Tenth Annual Topless 100. In the Modified feature qualifier Friday night, Bobby Malcus, #88xx, started on the outside second row. A few laps into the race, he passed Jared Webb, #15, the 2010 Modified champion, and Sean Jones, #24, to take the lead and the win. Tim Clonch, #49, Trevor Lane, #17, and Josh Landers, #14x, were your top six finishers.

Saturday's Topless 100 has been rained out. A strong thunderstorm passed through Saturday morning and the races have been cancelled. The plan is to reschedule them at a later date. For more information, go to: www.cowtownspeedway.com

Troy Taylor was the Limited Modified feature winner. 

Fresh off a win from Texas Motor Speedway, Troy Taylor, #56, was the raceTX Limited Modified feature winner. Tim Clonch, #18, Wayne Melton, #18m, Terry Pritchett, #z71, and Cody Simpson, #81, rounded out your top five.

Andy Hogan was the 600 Mini Sprints feature winner.

Andy Hogan, #3d, made it two in a row in the 600 Mini Sprints feature. In one of the closest races of the evening, Andy Hogan held off a hard charging Kevin Ramey, #7m, to take the win. Justin Melton, #11, Chipper Wood, #47, and Taylor Smitherman, #21t, were your top five.

Frank Lackey was the Bomber feature winner.

In the Bomber feature race, Frank Lackey, #41, was the winner. Chad Pearce, #82, Gary Smitherman, #42, Tracy Baker, #22, and Dustin Birmingham, #13x, were your top five. 

Bradley Ivie was your Restrictor feature winner. 

It looked like Michele Melton, #21, was going to take the checkered flag in the Restrictor feature, but with one lap to go, she spun out opening the door for Bradley Ivie, #99i to take the win. Ashley Reagan #87, the 2010 Restrictor Mini Sprints champion, Reagan Reed, #7, Braden Hull, #4h, and Chance Hull, #7h, were your top five.

A special thanks to everyone who helped raise money for the Chris Kent family, a race car driver who lost his life a couple of weeks ago.

Curtis Young was the SportMod feature winner.

Cowtown Speedway hosted their annual 9/11 Memorial Show Saturday night. A nice crowd paid tribute to those affected by the events of 09/11/01. There were six classes of cars plus a fireworks show. Jared Webb, #15, made it career win number 207 in the Modified A-Main. Josh Landers, #14x, started on the pole and led for several laps, until he developed engine problems. Jared Webb took the lead and went on to take the checkered flag in the 20-lap feature at the 1/4-mile banked dirt track. Bobby Malcus, #88xx, Clyde Dunn Jr., #88xxx, Charlie Smith, #3c, and Jim Knight, #73, were your top five.

Bret Young was the RaceTX Limited Modified feature winner. 

In one of the closest finishes of the season, Bret Young, #69, defeated Chase Brewer, #99, for the Race TX Limited Modifieds feature win. Kevin Green, #55, T.J. Green, #5d, and Keith Martin, #85, rounded out the top five.

Andy Hogan was the 600 Mini Sprints feature winner.

Andy Hogan, #3d, took the inside groove going into turns 1 and 2 to defeat Kevin Ramey, #7m, in the 600 Mini Sprints A-Main. Kevin Ramey lead most of the race, but with one-lap to go, Andy Hogan was able to get past him. Jeremy Hefler, #69, Daq Querry, #53, and Chase Brewer, #3c, were your top five finishers.

Chance Hull was the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature winner. 

The Hull brothers, Chance, #7h, and Braden, #4h, took first and second in the Restrictor Mini Sprints feature. Garron Brimmer, #3g, Payton Williams, #22, and Reagan Reed, #7, were your top five.

Gary Smitherman was the Bombers feature winner. 

Gary Smitherman, #74, took top honors in the Bomber A-Main. Chad Pearce, #82, "Fast" Eddie Phillips, #3, Tracy Baker, #22, and David Hodges, #24h, rounded out the top five.

Choice Lynch was the TWMA Wing Modifieds feature winner.

Sean Jones wins SportMods Nationals at KSP

Sean Jones was the SportMod feature winner Saturday night.

Sept. 4 (Saturday)

Kennedale Speedway Park held the 6th Annual IMCA Southern SportMod Nationals Friday and Saturday night. In the SportMod feature Friday night, Jay Bransom, #29, finished 1st. However, his car was disqualified and Fort Worth veteran Troy Taylor, #56, was declared the winner. The hard charger award went to Sean Jones, #94, who moved up several places to take the 2nd position. J.P. Dowell, #65d, rounded out the top 3.

Saturday night, Mansfield's Sean Jones, #94, took advantage of a great starting position and quickly jumped out to the lead in the 25-lap main event. There was no stopping Sean Jones Saturday night as he ran away from the 24-car field to take the $2,000 first place money. Troy Taylor, #56, took 2nd and David Ferguson, #64x, was 3rd.

In the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature, local legend Keith White, #1, took the checkered flag to win the $1,000 Modified feature. About 6-laps into the feature, Keith White passed Mike Hathcock, #103, on a rough track to take the lead. The ruts got to Mike Hathcock costing him several positions. Jeremy Willis, #010, and Kevin Sustaire, #3p, rounded out the top three.

In the Street Stock feature, Michael Sterling, #17, came from the back of the pack to pick up the win. It was a close race with several cars battling for the lead. With a couple of laps to go, several cars got together coming out of turn 2, allowing Michael Sterling to go by on the high side for the win. John Riechard, #8j, and Jimmy Parker, #21, were your top three.
