Allmendinger finally inks deal with Petty team

After much rumor and speculation over the past six weeks, AJ Allmendinger has finally signed a contract with the new Richard Petty Motorsports team. Allmendinger is scheduled to drive the No. 44 Dodge in the non-points Budweiser Shootout, the first eight NASCAR Sprint Cup races and the Daytona race in July. That schedule could and will expand to the full season if the team can find sponsorship for the car.
